PRESIDENT Bush takes it on the chin in the new Rolling Stones tune "Sweet Neo Con." In the most political song from their upcoming "A Bigger Bang" album, Mick Jagger sings: "You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/ You call yourself a patriot. Well, I think your are full of [bleep]!" Jagger tells Newsweek he's not sweating possible repercussions. "I think [Keith Richards] is a bit worried because he lives in the U.S.," crows the English rocker. "But I don't."

I have wondered for years if Keith Richards is actually alive or are the Stones' promoters pulling a "Weekend At Bernies" on the public.

The 1960's and 1970's left overs never really grew up. Grey haired, ponytailed stupified morons who still worship COMPLETE LOSERS like Jagger and the rest of their ilk are pathetic. The stoned flower children of the 1960's and 1970's NEVER COMPLETELY GREW UP THEMSELVES BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVE TO BORROW OPINIONS AND GET DIRECTION FROM THEIR LEFTIST LEADERS RATHER THAN DEVELOPING THEIR OWN. Its obvious, most of their leaders never evolved beyond four chord formula tunes.

Jagger and the rest of those dried up shrivelled left overs from the hippy days are HAS BEENS and most of them are NEVER WERES.

I am so pissed.

The Stones were the last rock n roll band which I respected, simply cause they never latched onto the liberal claptrap.

Contrary to what others say (about ignoring a band's politics), I cannot ever look at a musician the same way once I learn how demented they are IF (as most do) they oppose the very freedoms made possible by the strength and character of conservative western politico's like GWB, Reagan, Thatcher, and dare I say Blair.

It is our strength that allows bands like the Stones, Maroon 5, etc. to have the freedom they do to zoom around the world and badmouth their protectors.

If the libs were in charge like they want, this world would long ago have morphed into a balkanized terror filled dangerous place.

It makes me kind of nauseous to think about Mick Jagger using the word "sweet" to describe the President.

Rolling Stones team with NFL and ABC

(Aug. 8, 2005) -- The worlds of music and football will collide this year as the legendary Rolling Stones will partner with the NFL and ABC for a season-long campaign.

The Rolling Stones will help kick off the 2005 season from their "A Bigger Bang" world tour with footage from their Aug. 31 concert in Detroit as part of "NFL Opening Kickoff 2005" -- a one-hour pregame special on ABC at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 8.

ABC also will feature music and video footage of The Rolling Stones throughout the 2005 season in its Monday Night Football promotional campaigns and in-game highlight and tease packages. The campaign will feature new music from their highly anticipated CD, A Bigger Bang, to be released on Virgin Records on Sept. 6, along with hits from their catalog.

The release of A Bigger Bang follows the Aug. 21 tour kickoff at Fenway Park in Boston as they once again bring fans electrifying performances and state-of-the-art stage production. For additional ticket information, go to tickemaster.com.

The Rolling Stones' performance in "NFL Opening Kickoff 2005" is part of a football and music celebration of the NFL's "Road to Forty" season that will look back at the history of the Super Bowl, honor the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and down the road to Super Bowl XL, slated for Feb. 5, 2006 in Detroit on ABC. Other acts will be announced shortly.

"NFL Opening Kickoff 2005" will air from 8-9 p.m. (ET) on ABC and lead into the season opener between the Patriots and Oakland Raiders at Gillette Stadium -- a rematch of the memorable 2001 AFC divisional playoff "blizzard" game (ABC, 9 p.m. ET).

Somehow I suspect they might have a problem going through with this deal. Especially the MNF part of it. Once the backlash begins that is.

If the Stones have not Jumped The Shark twenty years ago, they are now. It is too late for them to reinvent themselves as a message band. I predict this album will be in the discout rack by Christmas.

As a kid in the 60's I never bought Rolling Stones records, I didn't like that they were ripping off black R&B and blues guys and getting famous while the guys they were copying from didn't do as well. But I am surprised that Jagger is a fan of Saddam and Islamic terror.

I still love their old stuff especially with Mick Taylor, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 to see them these days and it would have to be in the first 50 rows. Where the real price of tickets isn't less than $250. Who wants to see that old horn dog prancing and jumping around the stage? It's ridiculous at his age. I saw them years ago and that's sufficient.
