I love my grits!!! especially with butter, salt and pepper and sometimes cheese *yum yum*

What about red eye gravy? My mother loves it on grits.
Instant grits are okay in a pinch.
I would never put sugar on grits, but brown sugar is good on Cream of Wheat.
Grits, as a subject, has been coming up a lot lately.
We were JUST talking about this the other day!!!! ;)

Crushed red pepper or hot sauce is also acceptable. So is red-eye gravy.

A tabloid newspaper that used to be hawked door to door by schoolboys, I haven't seen a copy of The Grit in many years.
I sold Grit one summer. Made a dime a copy as I remember.
The best way to eat grits is to take grits, a couple of over easy eggs, a couple strips of bacon crumbled up, and mix it all together. Salt and pepper to taste, then spread the mixture on buttered toast. That's good eatin'!
Precious few restaurants know how to make good grits, so instant grits can actually be better than some restaurant grits.
Don't even get me started on how bad most oatmeal is. The key to good oatmeal is butter added while it is still cooking.
Instant grits OK in a pinch? Surely you will be punished for that thought!!!

Thou shalt use tomatoes as topping, if thou wishes.
Thou might also use blue cheese for grits if thou art serving up a mess of quail.
