THIS THREAD IS INTENDED FOR READERS THAT HAVE COMPLETED THE BOOK! If you have not yet read the book, consider yourself warned: There will be spoilers on this thread.
For my fellow FReepers who have no intention of reading the book but would like to discuss the more controversial issues related to the work, I am asking you as politely as I can: DO NOT HIJACK THIS THREAD. We are all members of this forum and as such, it is not up to me to disallow anyone from participating in the discussion. That is why I am asking you--please do not hijack this thread. If you would like to discuss the more controversial aspects of the book, maybe you could start your own thread and ping us over there. If we are interested, we'll come.
Every so often I point out to the religious hypocrits that by barring themselves from literature, they are acknowledging how weak their faith is. I mean, seriously--that's what it comes down to AFAIC. Lately I've just been staying away from the arguments altogether. Sanctimonious something-or-others!
less ulcers that way.
If you have no say in what's done to the driveway then you shouldn't have to pay for it.
I totally agre on that
Love your tagline :o)
We won't find out until about 5 or so tonight.
That was our point with the judge, we have no say, we won't pay. (In my Johnny Cochran voice.) :)
Got that right, I'll keep you in my prayers tonight.
We won!! We only have to pay $150 of the $700. It is a total that we paid three years ago for shale. The judge said that since the plaintiff knew it was going to be so much more and didn't tell us or get estimates and since we assumed it would be like before when we paid for shale, $150 was fair. The funny thing is that we offered to pay over $300 when first presented with t he bill and they wouldn't budge, said we had to pay it all. Woohoo!! Thanks for the prayers!
Laugh all the way down the driveway and to the bank! Greedy boneheads...hopefully, they're not overly-resentful greedy boneheads.
Keep your pets inside for a week or two, just in case.
We don't have any pets right now, my dad thinks we should lock our cars though. The neighbors are a little afraid of us though, they know my husband is a big hunter and I am quite accurate (I had the nickname dead for a while). Last winter they got to drive past our garage and see 4 deer hanging there on different days. They got to see him skinning a couple of them too. Even I hate that! LOL!
Didn't the students from the other schools look great?
LMAO!!!
yes. And is the handsome blond young man Cedric?
No wonder Hermione had an eye for him!
It could have been Hagrid. He never accepts that Snape is evil when it is suggested to him, although that could just be because Dumbledore has such faith in Snape, and Hagrid adores Dumbledore.
I seem to remember Aberforth having had "an unfortunate incident with some goats" or something, and I believe Dumbledore makes a joke about bartenders, implying that Aberforth is the bartender in the Hog's Head.
Mark Evans was one of the kids Dudley was bullying in OOTP. Presumably Muggle, but.....
I am late to this, but Tonks NEEDS level-headed Remus to mature her a bit. I loved it, and that was THE biggest shock for me in the whole book....maybe the whole series.
Yah, but Remus needs someone more, um, nurturing and caring, than Tonks. IMO.
Please add me to the HP ping list!! I am SO late to this thread. : )
