You know, I noticed that too; the red round one shows up as Andy_Stephenson at the beginning of the thread, but then suddenly metamorphizes into GodBlessBushandCheney, but it's still the red round one.
I remain greatly confused as to why these "bean spill" threads from DUmmieland are relevant to this current fraud. I have read these things so many times I've memorized them, but all I get out of them (in relation to this current fraud) are those subtle hints for donations which eight months later are not so subtle.
But the other stuff, well--I never paid much attention to the controversy even when it was going on in DUmmieland. I know the Bev Harris thing convulsed and earthquaked DUmmieland, but in the real world, it was a negative number on the Richter Scale.
I mean, open and honest elections is not an issue important to me, as long as no one is looking in the right places, such as Cleveland or Philadelphia or Chicago or Boston or Seattle or San Francisco or Milwaukee; they're not likely to find vote tampering in other places, so why don't they look for it where it most likely happens?
So I just never gave it much thought; if they're not going to do it right, going into these Democratic machines, why even bother to try it at all?
So.....I read these threads, and have a "perspective" on the Bev Harris issue as it afflicts DUmmieland.
Of course it is a one-sided, biased perspective, coming from the red round one and the cartoon character DUmmie "Kevin Malice"--I never did know anything of it from the other side, the side tilted in favor of Bev Harris.
This is my "take" on the issue--but remember, it comes from the anti-Bev Harris side, and is tilted in favor of the red round one and the cartoon character; based upon their own words on those threads:
(a) the cartoon character tried to cheat Bev Harris, but she wouldn't let him, so the cartoon character got angry with her;
(b) in the meantime, the red round one was working for Bev Harris and finding ways to cheat her, and let the cartoon character know about it;
(c) the red round one and the cartoon character conspired to cheat Bev Harris anew, but Bev Harris just in time got rid of the red round one, before he could bankrupt her;
(d) the red round one found it easy to solicit donations in DUmmieland playing the sympathy card (i.e., alleging mistreatment by Bev Harris); and
(e) the cartoon character is still mad at Bev Harris because she didn't let him cheat her, and so joined forces again with the red round one.
However, it does not appear the cartoon character is involved in this fraud; this appears a uniquely red round one fraud--the cartoon character is merely "cheerleading" (and probably never gave a dime for the medical expenses of the red round one; that was only for poor people to do), with the idea that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," and nothing more.
Okay, this is what I get from these threads, but remember, we are reading the anti-Bev Harris, pro-red round one, side of the story.
Does anybody have any idea about Bev Harris' side of the story?
I fail to see the connection to the current fund raising scam too.
I do notice a complete absence of some of today's prominent players, no sfexpat2000, bettyellen, benburch, miss waverly, and goodboy. And only a cameo appearance to Mr. DeathoftheWrittenWord himself, William Rivers Pitt.
In the third bean spill thread, Andy only makes one comment and then someone asks if Andy will be in Warren County that weekend and greatauntoftriplets answers for him, which is an observation that captures my attention but may not mean anything.
Oh, I just noticed there is a "Beth" posting under the name of "housewolf" could that be the same as sfexpat?
In bean spill 2 he claims not to be accusing Bev of any wrong doing then asserts he knows for a fact that not all checks picked up at the post office on a certain day made it to BBV's bank account and since book keeping duties have already been taken away from him, I wonder how he knows this for a fact.
But none of these observations really tie into the current fund raising questions as far as I can tell.
I guess I wonder, if Andy was posting from Seattle (and I don't know that he was) and he was broke, how did he go to Warren County, which seems to be in Ohio. Was he working for another organization or did he attend as a private citizen?
I think some of them, not all though, are there, just using their various screen names to talk to themselves and bump the thread as a result, Andy, the comic book guy, boredtodeath, housewolf, and beherenow (iirc, the panic room coordinator).
I'm just seeing the anti-bev alliance, which has morphed into the FOA in the current situation.
Me too. I was looking for the Master Shake quote that goes "I should not walk so that a child may live" which I think is my favorite quote from my favorite episode but I found this one instead and it cracks me up.
This Meatwad quote is from one of my least favorite episodes, Escape From Leprauchpolis, so that's probably why I don't remember it so well.
My favorite episode that I alluded to is MC Pee Pants:
Well, I was going to post the lyrics to I Want Candy, but they don't make any sense and the way the words form on the page could cause minor brain damage.
//I mean, open and honest elections is not an issue important to me, as long as no one is looking in the right places, such as Cleveland or Philadelphia or Chicago or Boston or Seattle or San Francisco or Milwaukee; they're not likely to find vote tampering in other places, so why don't they look for it where it most likely happens?

Same with me and one other thing that I really don't understand at all...
The Dumbocrats constantly complain about 'voter suppression' and reference long lines, incompetent poll workers, sloppy paperwork, etc. But what they fail to mention at all is that most, if not all, of these situations are in counties that are heavily Dumbocratic and which probably have 99.99% dumbocratic election officials who are responsible for the election process.
Not that these officials wouldn't do anything like try to manipulate the voter turnout.... I have personally experienced that but did not really let it bother me.
I live in a heavily dumbocratic county and the polling place where I vote has two precincts. Both contain a mixture of white and blue collar workers. Until just recently one would trend heavily dumbocratic and the one I voted in would trend just as heavily Republican. Guess which one has the fewest voting machines and the longer lines?
Now the local voters have gotten so disgusted with the national dumbocratic party that both vote heavily Republican on everything except local elections. And now both of the precincts have the same number of machines and the lines are still longer in the Republican one but that is only because more of us vote in that one.
The "bean spills" are very revealing, particularly in retrospect. After vowing silence about Bev, Andy gins up the more than "two minutes of hate" against Bev, even naming his tumour after her.
The "spills" trace the development of the Andyscam, from the first happy-go-lucky decision to set up a Paypal acct for Andy, on Dec 23, 2004; The who, how, when, where, are in the comments, the bandwagonning of donations, even the suggestion from a new DUer "truckin" to set up an ongoing "fund" to "repay" Andy for his "service to democracy" and to make up for his suffering because of Bev.
Why others find the the bean spills extraordinary is the appearance of a few people seeming to conspire to set up a fraud on one Left-wing website, which, within weeks, becomes an internet phenomenon, driven by hysteria, and protected by a swift and abusive silencing of anyone who demurred.
The die-hards "great-aunt-of triplets," "mehr" and others inject personal notes as to Andy's credibility. "great aunt..." "knows Andy's stories of Bev are true" because "Andy told me," the same stories. "Great-aunt..." invites Andy to spend Christmas of 2004 with her "extensive" family. No mention of "termite."
Reading how this was set up, how deliberate and calculating, how susceptible to the "warm fuzzies" the deracinated, lonely DUers are, it is more appalling than amusing.
Have you notified the townspeople and local ranchers of the possibility of drug-drenched "hunters" wandering around "spooking" the cattle?
Good to have you back, sir; you were missed, and again, I grieve for your loss.
It's a holiday weekend, and a hot summer to boot, so not much going on around in this part of the state--other than the parades and fireworks, of course.
As for other things, the cattle remain placid under the shimmering heat, and there are four Andyites who should wish me a long and trouble-free life; in fact, probably it would be a good idea if they drank to my health at least once a week, and twice on Christmas and my birthday.
If they wonder why they're in this preposterous situation, well, it's because they thought things only halfway through before shooting off their mouths.
Probably now they should sit down and think things the other half of the way through, and that will explain to them why.
Stupid impulsive people.
I'll bet they still don't get it, though. I can just hear them..."Huh? Why would we want to make sure this guy is safe?" heh
Check. Thanks for the reassurances of your safety. I'll sleep better.
A lot better than BB and his cowardly cohorts will, for a long time.
There are no hard-and-fast numbers, and this peculiar DUmmie habit of using more than one screen name causes complications, but essentially, basically, it appears that there are about 5,000 "hard-core" posters in DUmmieland; DUmmies who post every day, and often.
That is far less than the number of registered users (71,000), but not untypical of political web-sites; one probably finds the same thing with freerepublic (225,000 registered users, but only 30,000 "hard-core" posters who post every day, and often).
Anyway, DUmmies can be divided into four distinct groups, the first of which is the cream of the crop, authentic honest people leaning portside ideologically, who carry on vigorous but rational discussions of the issues.
The second group are the professional militant Haters, the sour milk; these are people who live only to Hate.
The third group are the crackpots, the skim milk.
The fourth group of course are the Andyites, the arsenic in the milk, perhaps only 50 in number, but overwhelming in their dominance of thousands of others.
It seems to me if I were the Head Warden "Skinner," I would worry, because of recent, uh, disturbing trends.
The first group, the cream of the crop--and perhaps the most benevolent monetary benefactors of democraticunderground--used to post much; much more often than they currently post. In fact, such numbers have shown a precipitous collapse since December 2002 and July 2003. It used to be easy and quick to find reasoned postings in DUmmieland on important issues; now, one has to really dig to find them.
The second group, the people who make Hating a full-time occupation, naturally increased after the elections, but it is reasonable to assume they will diminish through natural and social extinction.
The third group, the crackpots, the DUmmies who provide the DUmmie FUnnies with most of its material, appear to be the largest group, their numbers daily increasing.
The problem for the Head Warden "Skinner" is that the Haters and the crackpots, while constituting the overwhelming numbers in DUmmieland, seem not nearly as diligent in their financial support of the web-site; he needs to keep the cream of the crop on board, with their $100-bills, in contrast with the dimes from the Haters and crackpots.
But the dilemma for the Head Warden "Skinner" is that the fund-raising activities of the Andyites appears to have driven, and still is driving, away, the cream of the crop from democraticunderground. The more the Andyites pursue fund-raising, the more the financial underpinnings, and the reputation, of democraticunderground, are eroded.
Just more questions on this Independence Weekend, no still no answers.
You know, what greatly disappoints me is how unskillful the Andyites are, at games of strategy and all that.
I must make it clear this is no "game;" deceit and fraud are serious, but anyway, I had figured two months ago that we were fried fish in all this, because many in DUmmieland are probably what used to be called 10 or 15 years ago, "Dungeons and Dragons" fanatics.
So I had thought we were up against a bunch of professionals; professionals at planning and strategy.
And to be bluntly honest, I was scared. Petrified.
I never had the patience to play games; in poker, if one plays with me, the rule is, "lay down your card in five seconds, or you lose." Life is too short to spend much time thinking, mulling, contemplating. Just hurry up and lay down the card.
But perhaps I overrated the Andyites when it comes to "planning" and "strategy," and perhaps the Andyites, back when they were younger, had the habit of losing a lot of "Dungeons and Dragons" games.
There was that misstep by those four bellowing Andyites, with the consequences being the opposite of what they had intended--but that was only a minor misstep in all of this, compared with some other missteps.
Two of bigger mistakes--one already made, one potential--immediately come to mind.
Number one, when Scamdy first came into the world, under an ownership different than mine, the cartoon character overreacted to a small joke (I was not in favor of that small joke, but not being owner of the real-estate, there was nothing I could do about it, myself).
Because discussion of this most-serious matter had been banned in DUmmieland, and then in that other conservative web-site, and because freerepublic is not the proper platform for an all-out exposure of this scam, Scamdy offered the best chance for an honest and open discussion of the matter.
So the cartoon character got Scamdy taken down--but the cartoon character forgot that suppression does not erase; it merely moves something behind the curtains.
If the original Scamdy had been left unmolested--the small joke by the previous owners due to be changed in a couple of days anyway--the "work" on investigating this scandal would have continued out in the open (as it had on the DUmmie FUnnies), for all to see.
Everything was out in the open, for both friend and foe to see.
But with the suppression of the original Scamdy, most of the work went back behind thick curtains, where no one could see what was going on. There is a new and unfettered Scamdy, and it is my pride and joy (however, I merely own the real-estate; people more competent with computers operate it, while I sit back)--but 75% of the investigation still continues behind the curtains.
An unintended consequence; everything used to be out in the open, for all to see, but suppression moved things outside of the public eye.
The Andyites really messed up there.
A second major mistake the Andyites might make is thinking that by taking franksolich out of the mix, the issue is dead, everything is over with, and they may happily go back to taking money from the poor to lavish the rich.
No one single person is indispensible, and there are a great many people involved in this. If franksolich were removed from the mix, someone else would step up to bat.
franksolich is a known quality to the Andyites, and it is always best to confront a foe one knows. If someone else had to step up to bat, that someone else would be utterly unknown, and take some getting used to.
And probably that someone else would be an even more dangerous adversary than franksolich; after all, franksolich is not the brightest bulb in the socket, and so the odds are pretty good that whoever took his place, if necessary, would be even more formidable.
I am really embarrassed that I had overestimated the "planning" and "strategic" skills of the Andyites.
apparently so, according to lurch
To what are they attributing a stroke??
i have no idea, i'll have to check around here and some other sites to see if there is some more info
i just reread my post.
considering the source of the information, i would like to edit the last line in my previous post to just read, "i have no idea."
let's just eliminate that 'check around/other sites/some more info' section, seeing as there will be no more information made available.
I think I missed something important. I noticed you have not been around but didn't know why. I hope whatever the reason (emergency room?), that things are better.
