Over the weekend, the Andyites in DUmmieland sent out an e-mail to ostensible "fence-sitters" on this issue, in which various statements, all of them erroneous, were made.

I saw the e-mail, but do not have a copy of it.

Anyway, the Andyites are alleging that "problems" with the Washington (state) Secretary of State, regarding the multitudinous fund-raisers on behalf of the red round one are "being cleared up".....which is probably news to the Washington (state) Secretary of State, which is still processing complaints and nowhere near done.

The Andyites are also alleging that the web-site Scamdy.com was responsible for the cessation of state social services to the red round one--but at the same time claiming such aid has been "resumed."

Well now, one scratches his head over this.

Scamdy.com has existed for three weeks, and bureaucracies do not move that quickly; what is especially remarkable is that no one, to the knowledge of the owners of Scamdy.com, has ever even contacted the Washington (state) Department of Social Services.

And besides, didn't the red round one himself cry about "no more cookies in the cookie jar" as long ago as last February, when he was, apparently, deemed ineligible for medical assistance because of assets and income?

For the record, I myself as an individual contacted the Washington (state) Department of Social Services about possible fraud, in March.....about six weeks before that fateful afternoon of April 28, 2005.

Coincidentally, just about the same time I did that, the newspapers became full of stories about the Washington (state) Department of Social Services; about how more than a billion (with a "b") dollars in medical assistance could not be accounted for, having gone to, probably, people genuinely unqualified for such assistance.

This--more than three months ago--was before we learned of the multiple fund-raisers, before we learned that the red round one and his dearly beloved boast a $250,000 euqity in their $400,000 house, before we learned of a stash of gold coinage in the mattress, before we learned of a $70,000 inheritance.....

The tragedy of this misspent billion dollars is in that, being given to those genuinely ineligible for such assistance, it meant that people honestly in need of such assistance had to be turned away.

So, looking at that last March--six weeks before April 28, 2005, remember--I figured, well, this isn't going anywhere; he slipped in through the cracks, and gave the Washington (state) Department of Social Services no further thought.

It is of course preposterous to think that Scamdy.com has had any influence, even a microscopic iota of influence, upon law-enforcement, regulatory agencies, and social services departments anywhere.....yet.

Bureaucracies move at the pace of a glacier, and the first official complaint was made just two weeks ago. Yes, there have been dozens and scores of complaints filed the past two weeks, but it is highly unlikely anything has happened.....yet.

And so on this, the 61st day of the DUmmies held hostage, one suspects that if the Andyites are stumbling over obstacles and having "problems," such complications are coming from other sources, other directions.....and most likely, by the lies and missteps of the Andyites themselves.

It is of course amusing, entertaining, to watch a buncombe artist slip and fall--but it is much more amusing to watch such a thing when the snake-oil salesman trips over his own feet, than when someone else puts out his own leg to trip him.

Two full months in, and I'll remind you that when you added me to the ping list, you thought it was only going to be for a couple of days. I had predicted it would last much longer than you thought... but two months was well beyond even that prediction!

Well, now I'm confident enough--although not being God, I really have no idea--that we're close enough to the end, that I've been compiling a "history" of what the Head Warden "Skinner" calls "the Andy situation."

I bet it would make a great book.

Yes, it probably would; probably best as a fiction novel derived from actual events so that 1) you'd be safer from any libel/slander claims, and 2) it will "read" better.

PJ, here's another angle for Mary Matalin -- a two-fer, so to speak, with "AndyScam: The Novel" as a companion piece to "DUmmie FUnnies (with CD-ROM insert)".

Well, one thing's for sure--the main culprit in the plot won't be named "Andy," and won't be red and round.

The guy gets off on that kind of attention, and I'd like to deny it to him.

I hope you're right about this soon coming to an end with the culprits having to account for this mess.

On a side note last week I got a random e-mail with language so foul that it could only have come from one of the more prominent FOA. Looked to me that they were trying to intimidate me by letting me know that they know my name. I say, so what! Funny that this occurred after Bennie or ickyboy (I've forgotten which) posted scamdy.com info on MM.

Anyone else with the same experience?

Boy! Dishonesty never, ever pays off in the end. On the other hand, being honorable does.

I made a friend in prison years ago. An old gentleman who was in for tax evasion. He trusted an associate, gave him a grant of $500,000. This was reported to the IRS by his friend as a loan. My friend did 3 years.

He wound up being my cellmate. We used to eat together in the chowhall, walk on the track in the afternoons. Not once did I ever take advantage of his friendship like many in prison tried. I watched him back and basically defended him from hustlers.

Fast forward a few years to the present. He shows up in my town starting a new company with a local businessman. The local fuels all his trucks and equipment here at my station.

I am leasing my gas station. My friend decides it is best for me to buy this station. The owner of the station does not want to sell the gas station unless I also buy the resaurant next door.

My friend finances the whole thing. $450,000 at 2%. I don't even have to ask.

Andy's friends only help him take other people's money and never risk their own.

They are scum. Maybe it should have been called "scumdy scam". LOL

I really think they were aiming at someone they percieved to be weak. Backfired strategy...start at the bottom and chip away at the followers. Yep, they sure scared me all right! LOL

Yes, best make him green and rectangular. ;-)

OK. I give up. I keep seeing threads on this, but none of them shed any light on what you are talking about.

What is an Andyite, and what are these threads about?

But will the story include chicken recipes?

frank, here you are raising what, to me, has long been a red flag, just as much as your "three questions," and that is, FINANCIAL NEED. Specifically, did the Mendacious Mendicant have any?

Here to me are the four main issues:
1) Pre-appeal diagnosis of pancreatic cancer
2) Financial need
3) Need for the surgery to be done at JHH
4) Accounting of all funds raised and spent

You are right about the question about financial need! He had a very lucrative job with BBV Bev--and even skimmed some of her funds for himself illegally. He lives the high life, has an expensive home, jets all over the place, then all of a sudden when he needs medical help, he's destitute? Excuse me???? What is wrong with this picture!

...with all that said, if you had not been like a bulldog, hanging on to this story, the scam artist Round Red One would still be getting off scott-free and would still be whining everywhere for more DUmmie MUnny! As it is, he knows he's being watched by people who won't let him get away with this stuff!...and who have all the documents in a safe place!

You and PJ and the others who have worked so hard to keep this from going away have really stirred up the ant hill and they can't seem to find their way to the top! Their leaders are AWOL and they just seem to be swarming in disarray!

So what do you all think? Is Andy in the hospital right now - or not? It seems a cruel twist of fate that a cancer scammer would actually end up being so sick he needs to spend four days in the hospital two weeks post whipple. If true this is serious, especially right before chemo/radiation treatments were to start. If Andy misses the chemo/radiation treatments because of lingering complications it will be tough on both him and his money.

For the record, I myself as an individual contacted the Washington (state) Department of Social Services about possible fraud, in March....

So you think that Scamdy is much more likely to be indicted in Washington State than in Maryland for fraud? This means that if I am subpoenaed as a witness I'll have to head out to Seattle. I prefer Maryland but at least this will give me a chance to check out just how bad the Seattle women with their purple hair, multi-pierced faces, and bony bodies are as per our own Clemenza who has been sentenced to do hard business time in Seattle.
