Hmmm.
Looks like "Sluggs" in Malloy isn't going to (a) get his money back and (b) get any answers to questions.

"1. Scam artists want to work under the radar. If Stephenson made his solicitation for money on 200 message boards, how would this "scam artist" have expected to escape the intense scrutiny that goes with widespread blogosphere publicity? "
That one doesn't work. They forget about Bev Harris. (not accusing Bev of anything but DUmmies do)
Offering refunds instead of answers is a very dubious practice. Maybe, to avoid further scrutiny, they'll start offering "double your money back."

But the deal is, it doesn't even look like "bigten"--er, "Sluggs," is going to get either one, his money back or answers.
Alas poor "Sluggs."

Hmmmm...I notice none of the trolls have said anything on THIS thread. I wonder why.
'Bina.
Gee, Bina, could it be because all questioners have been LOCKED OUT?!
These "truthseekers" have a firm grasp on neither the small ideas or the large ones.

4. The names of the people supporting Stephenson include names like Ben Burch, Mike Malloy, and Randi Rhodes. The only thing suspicious about these names is coincidental alliteration-- when compared to the names of those smearing Stephenson are names like SomethingsGotagive, anonymousarmy, Mr.niceguydied, "Steve, and Reverend Mykeru. I defy anyone find any one of these as a complete listing in a standard white-pages telephone directory. The differential of disclosure between one side versus another speaks for itself.
If I were asking for checks to be sent in to me, I'd make sure you had my full name, and the correct spelling.
It is no surprise that the principal figure in a public fundraiser is a public figure.

If we believe the document is real, it still leaves us with many questions. Why would it show $50k due when checks totalling $32,000 had already been deposited on 5/11? Why would it be dated May 20 when the fundraising for the $50k began in late April? Wouldn't there be a document like this estimating the cost of surgery from before the alleged May 10th surgery date?
6. Detractors claim the document is a forgery, except that the document shows that you can contact Kim Scribner at 410-502-2323 to verify its validity.
I guess the "truthseeker" Rob G has never heard of HIPAA. We coudl certainly call Ms. Scribner, but she is prohibited by federal law from providing us with any information about a patient.

" I defy anyone find any one of these as a complete listing in a standard white-pages telephone directory."
Considering their threats to questioners, I wouldn't give my name to them for anything. I don't want to be harrassed simply for asking questions. I wouldn't give Randi Rhodes much just because she uses her real name. She did fundraising for Bev. We know how they feel about Bev.
8. Detractors claim the document is a forgery, except that the document shows that you can contact Dr. Charles Yeo at 410-614-xxxx to verify its validity. A quick google shows that Dr. Charles Yeo is a pancreatic specialist at John Hopkins and the complete phone number is 410-614-3539.
9. Corollary to No. 8: why on earth would a scam artist invoke the name of a real physician who could verify the legitimacy of the procedure to law enforcement and, if need be, the press?
10. Corollary to No. 9: The only way the scam-theory would be tenable in light of point No. 9 is if Dr. Yeo were in on the scam. Why would a Johns Hopkins physician risk his medical license to skim from Andy Stephenson's alleged scam the kind of money he can make back in one procedure?
11. At andythanksyou.com, you can find a scanned copy of his application for financial aid, noting Dr. Yeo is the surgeon for the procedure.
12. Detractors claim the document is a forgery, except that both Dr. Yeo and the organization Cancer Care (cancercare.org) are cited on the document. If the document were in fact a forgery, both Dr. Yeo and Cancer Care would have come forward to say so, as they obviously have no interest in being implicated or exploited in a fraud.
13. Corollary to No. 12: Why one earth would a scam artist invoke the name of an organization like Cancer Care, which could verify the legitimacy of Stephenson's applications to law enforcement, and if need be, the press?
Well, first of all, "truthseeker" Rob G, this is not two documents, but two pages of the same document. And Dr. Yeo does not vouch for its validity, neither does "CancerCare."
Again, federal law prohibits the answering of questions of Dr. Yeo or anyone else involved. So claiming that the presence of his business card makes him a witness for Andy is ridiculous.
Neither does it implicate the doctor as a co-conspirator. This reality is not an argument that the fundraising was legitimate.
You also can not claim that because the doctor or CancerCare have remained so far silent, this is tantamount to an endorsement. It is likely both that the doctor and CancerCare provided some sort of services to Andy and that they have no idea they are being used to bolster claims that have not been proven.

Last time I saw him, he was indulging in words of more then one syllable. Hopefully he didn't blow out his speech center. That can be tricky to repair.
Andy Condition Update:

And we have things squared away with the Washington SOS so no more worries there.
Interesting claims ben is making.

Do all hospitals have wireless internet now?
Can someone explain this to me. How do you have signs that it has spread to the lymph nodes without knowing that it has? surely the lab tests would indicate yea or nay.
Is this the same as all tumors are cancerous, the only difference being either they are malignant or benign?
It's not clear if "signs" refers to lab tests or something visual during the operation. In any event, it is conceivable that tests can "indicate" a condition without being 100 per cent declarative.
