Even though some will take bets on how many weeks this marriage will last -- I still wish 'em both well.

Why do I think Cruise is overcompensating?
Nothing newsworthy in that...he'll get to propose to several more women if he lives long enough. This is a little man with a big wallet and some women like that for a maximum run of three to five years. The younger they are, the shorter the run.
Are they sure he didn't propose to the the Eiffel Tower, considering the rumors about his preferences and all?
Cretans with thetans.
I think Cruise made Page 6 today, the guessing part.
No it won't. Most Hollyweird marriages are publicity stunts.
Oh well. I think Rachel Leigh Cook is still single, so my dream of a hot, single brunette lives on . . .
I knew it. Too much to hope that he was proposing to jump.
La Tour Eiffel, que apropos.
< ...that when she was a little girl, "I used to think I was going to marry Tom Cruise". >
'Nuff said.
Wow, what great publicity for lil' Tommy, eh? Oh yeah, and do you know he also has a movie coming out?
Playing shrink, Tom Cruise's first marriage was to an older woman with more Hollywood connections than he had. Good career move, (Mimi Rogers). His second marriage was to an emerging talent, and his career overshadowed hers, but the marriage put to rest rumors about his sexuality. They both benefited, and became equals, though she threatens to become a bigger star than he is. They divorce. He hits 40, (mid-life crisis?) fires his longtime handler, and marries a much younger woman, who clearly worships him, and at a time when his career is not what it was. It's fascinating the change in him since he fired Pat Kingsley. Just shows how tightly handled he was before.
Today's announcement may end speculation that the Cruise-Holmes relationship has been a publicity stunt.
Tom proposes to Katie at the Eiffel Tower & holds a press conference 15 minutes later...
I think Tom Cruise would be happier proposing TO the Eiffle Tower.
I hope Katie isn't disappointed by the phallic insignificance!
