The Pentagon Is Losing Iraq (Vanity)

Posted on 06/16/2005 7:26:20 PM PDT by faithincowboys

If Drudge is right that the Pentagon is planning to dump more abuse photos from Abu Ghraib, there is no use --we should just surrender.

If I had a loved one in harm's way, I'd tell them to desert. We can't win a war this way. Our media and governmanetal elites simply won't let us win this war.

Bush is too weak and the Republicans in Congress are intimidated by the big Beltway Media. The grunt and the Average patriotic American doesn't have anybody fighting for them.

There is no mass movement to defend the honor of the American military and there is no internal movement within the Pentagon or this Administration to say "Enough, we ain't giving the Rats in the media anymore sh*t to weaken us and boost the our enemies. We got a post-modern, post-nam Military brass-- not a pair of balls on any of them. There simply is no push back. The Schumers, the Durbins, the Moores and the MSM are more committed than the Right is.

I understand why recruitment is down-- the damn Generals don't defend the grunts. They keep giving more and more ammo to the Islamisofascists and the Enemies within. Tell me where I'm wrong.

I agree with you. As a Vietnam vet, I saw America abandon us in the field. I was in the TET Offensive, lost 3 tanks, 4 APC's and had 7 men left after 4 ambushes but we secured our objective after 15 hrs of slugging it out with the VC. My guys never gave up!! I don't say this for myself but I say this because I know what the enemy can do if he feels he's winning the "hearts and minds" through those who oppose our efforts. General Giap said as much when interviewed after the war.
It is frustrating to hear assholes like Durbin but he's not worth the price we'll pay for giving up. WE, you and I, need to do our part. I will NEVER give up. How can I?
And yes, I have a son in uniform. I will not do to him what America did to us in Nam. I'll march into Durbin's office before I take a step back.
God Bless America and all the brave men and women who defend her.

Pukin, the Left has got the upper hand if you hadn't noticed. There really, really needs to be some kind of pushback. The Left has the media, Hollywood and the courts. The Left is overtly aiding the terrorists and they are doing it with out getting so much as a bloody nose.

"There is no mass movement to defend the honor of the American military"

The country's demographics is changing and changing for the worse.

In another ten years expect the then President to have much less of a consensus by the American people. All this thanks to our current immigration laws and policies where once 90% of all immigration was European, but as of 2000 90% of all immigration is non-European.

In another twenty years we'll be lucky to have morphed into another banana third world republic somewhere between a Brazil and a Haiti. I say we'll be lucky because it could be worse - civil revolutions.

Well there's no need to get too worked up. This freeper really cares about the war, and that's good. (The comments about surrender were obviously meant for irony and shock value -- not something that was intended to be taken seriously.)

I don't care.

He was questioning people and making ASSumptions about the situation and he has no real handle on it.

Add to that the fact that the situations are ENTIRELY different, no matter what the MEDIA says or trys to make them look like.

I was there. I know.

What I think would be great is if an intergenerational group of non-partisan seeming vets (of course, any vet in his right mind has no use for the Democrat party) got together (no ties to the GOP) and participated in some serious activism. The Left has to be exposed. The common man on the street reveres our military and despises the low character and disloyalty of the Left. This battle needs to be joined.

What the hell are you talking about?? If you think this is the place for pessimism about America, I think you're mistaken.

No. They most certainly do not. The Left is getting its collective ass kicked all over the place. Have you noticed how shrill the Left has become?

Oh? According to who? The NY Times? Last time I checked, there were no Democrats making policy anywhere for the nation. If you mean all that Demo sniping like the little bitch ankle biters they are, that aint nothin.

Screw those losers.

I agree with you but I think it would be more effective if a group, a huge group of really pissed of Vets, like me, took on the task.

I am reading your posts. My knowledge of the situation is very different (and in this case, superior to your own).

What you are saying is needless, pointless and pessimistic bullshit.

I suggest the Pentagon do one better than that ordered by the court. The Pentagon should allow a delegation from the ACLU a visitation with the detainees inside their compound......unescorted, unguarded.

I agree, did you notice how fast the RINOs in Congress turned their back on Delay, President Bush had to reassure him on Air Force One.

And DeLay is one of our own convertives who actually fights for the conservatives and America.

And the RINOs were throwing him under the bus, thank God DeLay has the fortitude to hang in there.
