If Drudge is right that the Pentagon is planning to dump more abuse photos from Abu Ghraib, there is no use --we should just surrender.
If I had a loved one in harm's way, I'd tell them to desert. We can't win a war this way. Our media and governmanetal elites simply won't let us win this war.
Bush is too weak and the Republicans in Congress are intimidated by the big Beltway Media. The grunt and the Average patriotic American doesn't have anybody fighting for them.
There is no mass movement to defend the honor of the American military and there is no internal movement within the Pentagon or this Administration to say "Enough, we ain't giving the Rats in the media anymore sh*t to weaken us and boost the our enemies. We got a post-modern, post-nam Military brass-- not a pair of balls on any of them. There simply is no push back. The Schumers, the Durbins, the Moores and the MSM are more committed than the Right is.
I understand why recruitment is down-- the damn Generals don't defend the grunts. They keep giving more and more ammo to the Islamisofascists and the Enemies within. Tell me where I'm wrong.

Well first, get your facts together. The Pentagon has been ordered to release these items. It is not their choosing.

I do agree that the administration hasn't done a great job of managing perceptions of this war. We're winning the military war, but the real war is the war of information and public perceptions. That war isn't going real well, and the enemy seems to have seized the initiative and they're constantly on offense.
Patience, my friend. Read the milblogs when you get discouraged. A sea-change has already happened in Iraq. In northern Iraq, our boys don't even go around with body armor.

The conservatives are disgruntled, and if they are still digruntled come November, 2005 the RINOS will probably lose both houses.
The Republicans don't have a clue on how to use their newly mandated leadership posts and will be in for a rude awakening come January, 2006.
And they will have nobody to blame except themselves.
The military should declare them classified and tell the judge to eff off.

Everyone who's pro-military in this country is so cowed. I think there needs to be a grassroots mass movement to push back. We're letting the 60s Pinkos destroy another generation of American heroes and cause us to lose another war. We got Republicans saying we should get out, recuitment is down and now we got a pissload of new enemy-bolstering photos coming out. I can't take this sh*t.
I don't know about you, but I'd like to see the administration sidestep this court order.
Maybe the laws allows them to withhold the materials based on their potential harm to national security. Or maybe some clever lawyer could come up with some other fig-leaf argument for holding on to these items.

Well bless you for caring about this issue so much -- I wish others did too. I think there are reasons for good cheer -- we're not in the same position we were in the 1960's (even though the libs have fantasies that we are). Now we have FR and blogs and email and talk radio and Fox news, and a majority of voters on our side. That's not nothing!
I wish things were going better, but war always has dark times -- we're Americans, and compared to what we've been through before, this is nothing we can't handle.
