Slandering our soldiers recieved 100 posts.
Schiavo recieved over 600.
I guess Durbin, a United States Senator, will again get away with slander and aiding and abetting our enemies.

"What's Scientology supposedly have to do with Terri?"
A lot of folks have been going on endlessly about how everyone associated with Schiavo is a Scientologist and part of a massive conspiracy to kill Terri Schiavo.
BTW, re: post #71...
Those kinds of questions are why we have a judicial system.

Most of the "conservatives" who complain about Iraq being a "needless war" believe that Operation Iraqi Freedom was orchestrated by Bush's Secret Zionist Overlords.

Incidentially I think that Durbin should be censored for his remarks at the every least. His little rant to please his base may get many a good man killed.

Nope. Charge him with treason, then try and fry...

I know she didn't die a natural death. I am totally pro life although I must admit that I struggle with the issue when someone commits a crime against a child.

Hmm, I kinda see it as she was living an artificial life (since she needed medical hardware).

I am really divided on this threat. I guess I am as passionate about one issue as I was on the other. Durban conduct was and remains despicable and I truly felt that Terri's parents had a moral right to continue to care for her.
As to the machine keeping her alive, there wasn't really a machine, it was a feeding tube. That in my book should not be construed as a machine, and wasn't in the state of Florida when Terri first became ill.

I don't remember much about the firefighter but what I do doesn't make me change my opinion in the TS case.
What disturbed me most about this whole affair was the unwarranted and vicious attacks on MS. Having had to lose a beloved wife myself I know some of the things he had to go through and recognize the efforts he made to help Terri.
Thus, those calling him a "murderer" and accusing him of having inflicted the initial injuries to her turned me away from their allegations immediately. Hence I do not believe anything that is side by those who support such tactics.
Then, adding to the disgust, were the wholesale attacks on the judge, the medical experts, the hospice, the lawyers and everyone else who had the slightest doubt about keeping brainstems alive. If they saw a frog's leg jumping it would be alive by their standards.
Making the whole thing worse were the demands that the judge ignore law and commonsense while at the same time they are condemning judicial activism. And my evaluation of the videos and what the parents claimed just did not support the Schindlerista claims.
Topping off the whole mess were the Hate American comments of "Cultural of Death" which are the height of falsehood and deceit. America spends GIGANTIC amounts on preserving life, more than the GNP of almost all other nations. Death is fought with a desperation that beggars description. And in this case millions were spent along with thousands and thousands of hours of court time. If anyone ever received "their day in court" more than TS I am not aware of them.
This boiled down to a conflict between those who fear death and those who understand that at some point life ends or becomes not worth living. Preserving the barest semblance of life such as what was left to TS is a disservice to her and grotesque insult to her.

More hysterical misrepresentations do not convince anyone.
No one will charge me for not force feeding a dying animal.
Cases like TS are not unusual nor problematic except to those who live in a Pollyanna world where everything is free. In the REAL world we must make difficult and sometimes terrible choices of life and death. The resources to spend millions on lost causes simply are not there. Taxpayers can only be bled so much.

Well, the "Terrinuts" make up around 80% of FReepers, so I can see why you and the rest are a bit bothered.Indeed, you probably do make up around 80% now...

Those kinds of questions are why we have a judicial system. True, but the legal system isn't perfect. Like I said, the stuff in that timeline is all Michael Schiavo's story, and I can't see how anyone would look at that story and say "great candidate for a medical guardian." I also can't see why any judge would ignore the household situation Michael has. No matter how much slack you cut him, it was a clear and major conflict of interest for him to be acting as Terri's spouse while he was clearly far more engaged with another woman.
There are a lot of aspects of this case where one can say, "OK, I disagree but I'm not the judge." But when they start to get stacked on top of each other, they start to be too much to ignore. Something...and that something may just be incompetence...is wrong with Judge Greer.

Strange...you wrote this...
We also have a Rino-esque bastard in the White House who puts those poor women and men in harm's way needlessly in this Unconservative war....
...over 125 hours ago, and I posted my Five Questions of Ultimate Iraqi Wisdom just short of exactly four days ago. And yet, even though you've posted at FR since then, and even commented on the War in Iraq since then, you have not used your vast wisdom to answer any of my five queries.
So, I take it this is a picture of your current position?
