After receiving numerous complaints that the 1970s sucked and were not worthy of a vanity thread, here at the Pissant/CPOWife Research Center we've decided to select a decade that had more worthwhile activities to ponder. Though many positive events developed during the 1980s, there were plenty of stink-bombs as well. To further our research, we encourage everyone to participate in this scientific survey.
Without further ado, the Best and Worst of the 1980s:

Nightflight was awesome. G-men forever, Sunsplash, reefer madness...wow, takes me back. Yep. They would have bizarre music videos, then a Lenny Bruce routine, then a documentary of Martin Luther King's speeches, then some weird experimental film, then some hilarious cartoons, then an expose on Salvidor Dali.
The first time I saw computer animation was on Night Flight.

That's a distant second to "Back to the Future."
Besides, Broderick's best 80s movie was "WarGames."

I wasn't drunk ALL of my freshman year college, and I have only Nightflight to credit for that. They made it worthwhile to stay home some weekend nights.

ME TOO!!!
I was thrown out of three bars in one night... the last one because I was "diss-ing" preps. (Atlanta - early 80's - we were up to our eyeballs in gator shirts, khakis - and dorks - oh my)
The first one... because I requested the piano player perform NEW YORK - NEW YORK and I took his microphone and sang it.
I was shy back then.

Couldn't listen to thrash metal. My roomate (1984-1985) was a thrash metal freak. He loved the stuff.
I couldn't listen to it. I was a Pink Floyd/Beatles/Hendrix/Black Sabbath guy. We each had stereos in our respective rooms, so we had regular contests to see who could crank our music the loudest.
It almost got violent, at times, but we never actually came to blows.

Well, it's a pretty steep curve (10 is perfection, 1 is "shoot me now, or at least put out my ears and eyes")

Sebastian Bach did look a little girly, but Geoff Tate was all man. And he could sing. :-)
