It got you here. Hard to imagine it has gotten this many posts. Definately in the running for "Thread of the Day".
I'll have to take your word for it.
But whoever invented the pleated miniskirt though deserves a prize!
Wow...over 1000 posts way to go!
BTW, another good thing...The Muppet Show
You can pull out your nightstick any time, baby.
I think it was supposed to be Bernie Taupin. Elton was the glitzy one, Bernie the meat and potatoes guy.
Museum of Flight.
Muppet Show was the BEST ting on TV!
Yes!!!
That was true for many years....
AND... before the Iranian Hostage Crisis of 197X, no one would touch an American overseas - because, we were American!
Hehehe. And the handcuffs, BTW!
Bernie wrote the lyrics. Maybe it was an inside joke at the time, although Elton has said that he (Elton) is bisexual. He dated women back then.
Animal bowled overhand...
Oh, that's right!
When is that project gonna get rollin!
Velvet Underground
Animal and the two old geezers were the best. Oh and the scandanavian chef....and, and
OK, what about Red Skelton? Bob Hope? Lawrence Welk? World of Disney?
Lost in Space!
I still spin the VU CDs. Good stuff.
Lou Reed used to live near my dad.
He would walk around town in his motorcycle helmet so no one would recognize him.
Everyone would see a man walking around in leathers and a helmet and say, "Hi Lou!" and keep going.
Very funny...
I remember one weekend - Eric Clapton came to visit. The entire town was a buzz with excitement to see Eric. No luck - never caught a glimpse of him.
Of course, I was never a good stalker (back then).
Godfather I was absolutely brilliant. And then there was The Exorcist, which I saw with friends the first day it was released. We all laughed through it.
Another famous '70s event was suicide by kool-aid amongst the Jim Jones cult in Guiana. It sure put Kool-Aid on the map.
I rented a bunch of those from Netflix for my boys (9 and 8 years old) - they were ROTFL - great stuff still!
