Condolences on your loss. Mr. P was a beautiful kitty!

Sorry to hear that. We have had quite a few of these instances among the FR Kitty Crew lately.

Thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts. Had a rough time because Ernie--four years old, and the sweet peacemaker of the group--fell into a deep depression after Mr. P died. Ernie didn't eat, drink, or move for four days. He is doing better after force feedings and a visit with from vet today.
Again, thank you all for your encouragement.

Three cats we had, two parents and their daughter. When the daughter lost her last parent, her dad, she went into a month long depression which was only relieved by a fresh new kitten (to be sure, I got one the same color from the ASPCA). With her new found friend, she lived happily to the ripe old age of 22.

Condolences for your loss. My cat Phillip died in March at the age of 15 and I know how hard the loss must be. His littermate also was very depressed and lost after his death but is doing better now. I hope Ernie gets better in time. Does Ernie have any other cats to keep him company?

The new vet today (makes house calls!) is into some non-traditional treatments. Just gave Ernie a dose of Dr. Bach's Rescue Remedy--found in the natural food store--and bought some fresh catnip. He's perking up nicely this afternoon. High as a kite, but better than the depths of depression.
I thought the new vet was a bit on the dorky side, but the cats loved him.

Ernie has two lady friends here. They are loving on him nonstop the past couple of days. Amazing he misses Mr. Poopers.
