"It is just one of those re-occuring things. I hope this doesn't come true in our country. Maybe the film will awaken people to the situation of how dangerous it is . . . The parallels between what we did in Vietnam and what we are doing now in Iraq are unbelievable." --George "Michael Moore" Lucas
sorry folks...we know this one hurts, but this idiot does not deserve our money. We are at war and to fan the flames of anti-Americanism around the globe is irresponsible and dangerous. George Lucas will never see a dime of my money again.
The "Nazi" Pope was AWOL as well (and locked up).
Some people will rail against some other people regardless of what they did during a war.
Don't expect the socialist-secular left to be consistent. It is about tearing someone down. The end result is all that matters.
What is it about "I didn't think it was going to get quite this close," he said of the parallels between the Nixon era and the current Bush presidency, which has been sacrificing freedoms in the interests of national security. "It is just one of those re-occurring things." that you missed?
Screamin' Jay Mod "Put a zot of him."
You can go extreme in a boycott if you want. For me, the only Star Wars film I will repeatedly view is the first (1977) and frankly I like some other SF films better (Ray Harryhausen for example).
"Empire" ends with credits but has no end. WAY too many lingering plotlines.
"Jedi" leaves an hollow ending because it is a weak film.
"Episode 1" has a major "boy races to save the farm" subplot.
"Clones" was weak although as with the other films, had that "Star Wars" feel. So do the Bond films. Some of them suck too.
This film will reportedly be more pointed in its political message than the earlier films.
Some may boycott bringing such propaganda into their homes. Doesn't mean that all Lucasfilms carry such a message.
ABC World News and Report coming to the house tomorrow (Wed) to get my perspective on the matter...stay tuned

As Senator Padme, played by Natalie Portman, watches Palpatine consolidate his power amid a rapturous senate, she comments disgustedly, "This is how liberty dies: with thundering applause."
"I didn't expect that to be true," Lucas said, then laughed. "It gets truer every day, unfortunately."
apparently the story will be on Thursday evening, not tonite...
But, the money will still go to him and their executives and that means they can donate to the DNC. Same thing with Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. I'm not saying I'M gonna boycott the movie. I'm just saying that a boycott is a form of protest, and if you're not gonna protest both companies, then its kinda like Jean F. Cheri saying, "I actually did vote for the 87 billion, BEFORE I voted against it." Its kinda how certain teenage girls don't believe in abortion, but somehow, its ok for them to get hammered, plowed, coked up, and knocked up in the same night. Its almost as if the fact that they don't believe in abortion means that they don't need as much help as you think.
I finally get it now. I refuse to see this politicized rubbish.

When I want to see a movie but don't want to put money into the coffers of anti-american activists, I just by a ticket for a different movie and then watch the original movie.
I'm seeing it too WHY? PURE UNADULTERATED ENTERTAINMENT!
After 28 years I want to see how A. Skywalker became Darth Vader!
