I cannot because I saw it last night. Its funny because the theme of the movie is good vs. evil and freedom vs. terr any. During the movie the evil master of Darth Vader tells him that we rule the galaxy and then have Peace. Yes the bad guys believe in peace only after they rule over everyone. Sounds similar to Hitler, Stalin, Castro, etc... George maybe a Liberal, but he is actually pushing a conservative theme.

Maybe, but then again, George Lucas is the same guy who thinks the Vietcong are good guys (certainly good enough to base the Rebel Alliance on them), so his idea of freedom’s closer to the radical left’s idea of freedom.

As far as your comment on bad guys believing in peace only after they rule over everyone, it’s not bad, but there’s more to it than that. A lot of villainous people in history have actually made it pretty clear that even if they gain power, they will ensure there’s more bloodshed just for their own sick amusement. Like for example: Karl Marx stated in one, maybe two of his letters that once he and the Communists are at the helm, they are obliged to re-enact the year 1793, and even implied they should make it even MORE bloody than that event without once even implying there was any chance at peace (I wish I were joking about that, but I’m not: https://www.facebook.com/373757305985421/photos/a.373910375970114.102939.373757305985421/819295658098248/?type=1 And I can assure you, in those three letters, he pretty much advocated for far more war and needless bloodshed than even the worst conservative stereotypes made by sordid left-wingers can possibly promote in their lifetime.). Also, Che Guevara, the popular leftist icon and mass-murderer, explicitly told the UN to an outstanding ovation that he and the other Communist Cubans “execute, have executed, and will continue to execute for as long as the revolution lasts” (which knowing him and the Communists is permanently), and even went as far as to demand for nuclear war and reveled in the idea of millions of atomic victims. And don’t get me started on the Marquis de Sade’s actions and how he reveled in people dying painfully, or Sartre implying the point of two individuals is inevitably to fight to the death. There may be some delusional people who do genuinely believe that if they do rule over everyone, peace will reign, but from what I’ve read up, most of the evil people I’ve read could care less about peace even if that was their PR, and if anything, they’d even welcome eternal war even IF they take power simply to satisfy their sick appetites. Heck, Karl Marx I’d argue is even WORSE than Palpatine. At least Palpatine CAN make a claim for wanting peace in the galaxy, Marx literally wanted a world engulfed in a sick rehash of Robespierre’s reign of terror during the French Revolution, something not even most people who love the sordid French Revolution are particularly eager to endorse. In other words, if Karl Marx was a Sith Lord and ever did a Declaration of a New Order, he’d probably after pronouncing it also proceed to zap everyone in the audience and then manipulate the soldiers to shoot everyone in sight, even themselves, while he stands by laughing his head off regarding the carnage, literally rendering the galaxy into a wasteland just from his words.
