O'Reilly just sees it different than you do. That doesn't make him or you a bad person.

O'Reilly is actually easy to figure out. His militant moderate pose is a marketing gimmick. He seems to check the public opinion polls to find out what is majoritarian so that he may believe and cheerlead accordingly. He wants to know what the public thinks so that he jog in that direction as fast as he can so that he can "lead" the folks. He is as phony as the Arkansas Antichrist. He can be appealing when the polls go our way and impenetrable when they do not. Bear in mind he used to work for SeeBS News. That loyalty led him to defend Dan Rather (a rare instance of opposing public opinion).

O'Reilly? Isn't that an old worn bar in the bad part of town that serves warm, watered down beer?

if Michael Schiavo doesn't allow the Schindler family to have a funeral for Terri WITH HER BODY PRESENT, then O'Reilly will see Michael as a "villain."Better late than never. Perhaps it will open his eyes to some of the other nefarious critters who slink around in this travesty, like, for example, Greer.

He is what is called in the Catholic world, a Cafeteria Catholic.
He picks and chooses what he accepts as fundamental Truths.
He only got upset when MS appears (actually is) to deny the ritual of the burial required in the Catholic Church.
The murder of the girl is of no consequence to him because MS was her 'lega' husband. This is despite the fact he clearly violated his duties as a husband according to the Catholic Church's teachings.
Hence, Cafeteria Catholic.

He may have a little different prospective on the committed husband thing. This could turn his head.
http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/johansen200503160848.asp Terris [PVS] diagnosis was arrived at without the benefit of testing that most neurologists would consider standard for diagnosing PVS. One such test is MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). MRI is widely used today, even for ailments as simple as knee injuries but Terri has never had one. Michael has repeatedly refused to consent to one. The neurologists I have spoken to have reacted with shock upon learning this fact. One such neurologist is Dr. Peter Morin. He is a researcher specializing in degenerative brain diseases, and has both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Boston University.
In the course of my conversation with Dr. Morin, he made reference to the standard use of MRI and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans to diagnose the extent of brain injuries. He seemed to assume that these had been done for Terri. I stopped him and told him that these tests have never been done for her; that Michael had refused them.
There was a moment of dead silence.
Thats criminal, he said, and then asked, in a tone of utter incredulity: How can he continue as guardian? People are deliberating over this womans life and death and theres been no MRI or PET? He drew a reasonable conclusion: These people [Michael Schiavo, George Felos, and Judge Greer] dont want the information. Dr. Morin explained that he would feel obligated to obtain the information in these tests before making a diagnosis with life and death consequences. . . .
. . .Other neurologists have concurred with Dr. Morins opinion. Dr. Thomas Zabiega, who trained at the University of Chicago, said, Any neurologist who is objective would say Yes to the question, Should Terri be given an MRI?

Rush made a very good point when he said many people who also have made the decision to let a loved one die feel a lot of guilt and don't want to believe it was a selfish act on their part, so they have taken Michael's side.
Unfortunately, Michael appears more and more to be not exactly the poster boy for this issue.
I don't know if O'Reilly falls into this camp or not.

O'Ron his tv show basically has said for 2 weeks now that Michael is the bad guy in that he can surrender legal control over his wife to the Schindlers with no real harm to him, Terri, or anyone.
He has also said that there are all losers in this case, and no winners.
While he hasn't gone overboard in riticizing Schiavo, he hasn't treated him with kid gloves, either.

sometimes he can recognize corruption and evil, and he'll go after it like a pit bull (ACLU, for example)It's surprising that O'Reilly is blind to how the ACLU is so busily pushing for euthanasia in Florida.
