Please cut/paste this sample email to the President requesting a Presidential pardon for Terri Schiavo, sign your name/addy, and then forward to everyone you know (and alert by phone call if possible to the email so they can take action immediately).
This may be our last hope.
Please pass this on to all lists you may be on here and elsewhere.
Thank you.
Subject: URGENT: PRESIDENTIAL PARDON FOR TERRI SCHIAVO
To: President George Bush Subject: Need for Presidential order or pardon Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2005 10:39:05 -0700
It is clear after the confrontation of state and local police concerning the removal and restoration of Terri Schiavo, that only a presidential order can prevent the murder of Mrs. Schiavo by the clearly satanic judge in Florida.
Please issue a suitable order, and back the order up with armed forces if necessary.
It is unacceptable that a judge can order the murder of an innocent woman in the United States, whose constitution guarantees the right to life, and the powers of government do not stop him!
You know, I'm sick of the bickering. Frankly I put this up here for those who ARE interested in doing something, regardless of the impact it may (not) have, as one person mentioned.
If you don't want to do it, don't think Terri has a life worth living, or whatever your blah blah is...then please move on and don't waste your time on this post. I mean, really....
Thank you, and have a nice day. ;)
I MIGHT ADD A FURTHER EXPLANATION OF THIS SO-CALLED "USELESS" ACT OF SUCH A REQUEST FROM THE PRESIDENT: WHAT COUNTS IS THAT THE PRESIDENT AND HIS BROTHER KNOW WE ARE WATCHING AND THAT WE GIVE A DAMN WHAT HAPPENS HERE.
AFTERALL, YOU HAVE TO BE BRAIN-DEAD TO NOT SEE THAT A GRAVE, CORRUPT INJUSTICE IS GOING ON RIGHT BEFORE OUR VERY EYES AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Consider the utter perversion of our government in this case:
1) A florida state judge makes a despicable ruling, essentially murdering a helpless, defenseless, disabled woman, who was probably put in this state by the very person to whom he assigned legal custody of her.
2) The state legislature passes a bill (law) to preserve her life
3) The state judiciary illicitly wrestles power from the legislature, and declares unconstitutional any attempt of the legislature to assert its constitutional rights to be the final arbiter of law
4) The judge once again attempts to murder the disabled woman
5) The Congress of the United States of America asserts its constitutional authority to take her into legal custody (the bill passed last week).
6) The state judge ignores Congress (practically flips them off, and tells to kiss his behind)
7) The federal judiciary, in an unprecedented illicit manner, IGNORES the law making body of government, and will not assert the authority that Congress has given them (this is outlined in the Constitution as well)
8) The Executive and Legislative both, at state as well as federal levels, continue to be impotent in confronting the out-of-control judiciary
9) The despicable judge responsible for all of this gets protection by FEDERAL MARSHALS because "he has received threats against his person". These are the very marshals that should have been protecting the innocent woman against this animal, this twit.
10) If Dubya attempts any actions to take Schiavo in protective custody, the courts would rule that George Bush is VIOLATING her rights, since she's being given WHAT SHE WANTS: DEATH.
How PERVERTED IS THAT?
Interesting to know is that it's coming out that Scumbag Schiavo's attorneys contributed to Greer's Campaign.
They're all in cahoots with one another and it's disgusting.
HMMMM?
I sent the e-mail to Pres. Bush, too. Terri is not dead yet. Anything is worth trying.
Do something, folks -- instead of just griping, complaining, bickering, bitching, and moaning.
Read this. Ping your list please.
I would ask the Pres. to issue a reprieve instead of a pardon.
One could argue that the grammatical structure of the of the Pres to "grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States" can be read in a way that makes a reprieve for anything the President wishes, while a pardon would be for "offenses against the United States."
Act first, and argue the constitutional points later. The grammatical construct does allow such a reading.
That comment speaks volumes.
A quick search does not produce any authority for your interpretation. Alexander Hamilton argued in Federalist Paper #74 that the two terms are synonymous for the pardoning power of the President. No court that I could find has held otherwise.
please ping to lists...
Scripture found on day of feeding tube removal
Psalm 94: 20 - 23
20 Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You?
21 They gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.
22 But the LORD has been my defense,
And my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He has brought on them their own iniquity,
And shall cut them off in their own wickedness;
The LORD our God shall cut them off.
The question isn't what is correct, it is what is arguable.
As we used to say in the Army, "sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness than permission."
In Psalm 94, the psalmist asks God to judge the wicked and avenge oppression of God's people. It is wildly inapposite to a just government giving effect to the wishes of the severely disable to be released from enforced non-curing "treatment."
In fact, of course, the Biblically moral course of action is the one ordered by the Court. [Mt 7:13]
(i) A President, particularly a just one, can't act that way. (ii) In order to be 'arguable,' there has to be a plausible basis for the argument. Your argument has neither a historical nor a grammatical basis. Grammatically, if the framers had intend "reprieves" to be separate from "offenses," they would have had to put a comma after "reprieves." Most commentators view "reprieves" as an archaism for "commutation."
A foolish and unjustified action like that could lead to the President's impeachment. He knows better.
I know you are a Biblical guy and (despite my kidding you yesterday about adopting non-biblical RCC positions) I know you are interested in a Biblical answer here. If you, as 80%+ of the American people, would want yourself to be released from life if you were in Terri's condition, how can you justify from a standpoint of Christian morality further imprisonment of her in light of Matt 7:13?
I thought you were USAF? My bad?
While the USAF is a great service, the US Army is its parent.
I sorta still prefer "US Army Air Force"
:>)
You remind me of a windup toy.
