If Terri dies when she could actually be kept alive, and Jeb Bush doesn't use the State Police or the Florida National Guard, or ANYTHING to prevent this travesty, he will be vilified by the democRATS if he ever seeks another office (like the Presidency).
It means nothing that some democRATS are actually trying to keep her alive. The only thing that the MSM will hammer on is that he stood by AS Governor and allowed that poor woman to DIE when he could have prevented it.
There's another thread on here that posts the Florida Constitution. Jeb Bush is well within his authority to protect her and to grant pardon's to those that "restore civil rights".

I wanted him to go in right that minute, too, and take her to a place to be cared for. I still do. I know I will be able to sleep once I know she is finally being taken care of -- after coming SO CLOSE at the 3pm hearing.
Jeb's attorney had the quote right handy about protective custody. It was held out very clearly.
Social Services petitioned Greer. Greer said, keep killing her. I wondered why not bypass that altogether. I suspect it was to give him a chance to rescue himself . . . whether or not he takes it in Thursday's hearing is up to him and his arrogance. Think about it, he is a lowly Probate judge. He has had his glory with the courts upholding him. But now nurses are testifying in broad daylight, and doctors are saying she is not PVS -- he is about to look like an idiot if he doesn't do something.
I suppose they could kill and creamate her tonight and say she just died.
I suppose he could stick to his guns in spite of all evidence to the contrary.
But I am beginning to think over the past couple hours that the Supreme Court won't want that kind of egg on their face, letting a nonPVS die of starvation to protect a hack probate judge.
Maybe I am being overly optimistic. I don't know. But the light of truth is being shined these last 48 hours -- and it is making a difference.
Well Jeb would be strictly adhering to an existing Florida statute. He would not be acting outside of the law or inventing a new law. So it's not setting a terrible precedent that other governors can use to abuse power.
Faith can move mountains, but you danged well better bring a shovel.
If there are 200,000 freepers, there must be at least 10 or 15 thousand of them within easy driving distance of Terri. Why aren't they there already with bottled water?
Jeb Bush is a true son of his father, George H.W. Country Club Bush, Bushes neatly trimmed and sprayed by the liberal establishment. He hasn't done enough and hasn't said enough. But we have no choice. We must keep making noise, keep shaming this man, keep up the drumbeat against the Culture of Death and Judicial Tyranny. The chances that Jeb will hear us and act are slight. But the chances that we will, by doing this, wake up more of our countrymen is much greater. Revolutions have to start somewhere. We need to push this for all it's worth. It is that important, and the factors that are defeating in this case are even more important. We must do EVERYTHING we can to turn this around.

Yeah, everybody's reaction at the time was "Finally!". Even Hannity predicted action by the time his show aired. Well here it is zero-dark-thirty and.... nothing.

What is odd is that the pro-death proponents don't think anything is out of the ordinary at all. One more step on the path to full euthanasia; arrogant court rulings ignoring the legislative intent; IOW business as usual . . .

I think so too. DCF has been informed of possible abuse, neglect. They HAVE to investigate whether Greer likes it or not. They officially informed him of this today, he denied the motion but he really cannot stop this. The Dr that examined her today, at DCF request, says she IS NOT in a PVS. Withholding food and fluids from someone not in a PVS as they have done to Terri is abuse and I think DCF will find so. I also believe they will find other abuses as well. Unfortunately, the wheels are turning slowly. I think Greer will land on his butt on this. Prayers for Terri and her family.
Those of us that are able to love Terri, but still able to see past our emotion are pretty much a minority aren't we?

If I had to guess, I would say that an explicit ultimatum would have to come early this morning from Jeb or George for the SCOTUS to act by a certain time if they haven't already. Both have signaled a willingness to act but are waiting for the court's final word. It would be highly embarassing for them to act, only to have SCOTUS grant relief a short time later. But the time available to the court must be definitely limited.
You aren't thinking clearly right now.
Executives do not have the power to take life, but they do have the power to stop life from being taken. It's called executive clemency. If we the people give them this right to step in and stop execution of the criminal, why is it a stretch to believe that they can use it to step in and help those never charged with a crime?
