You know what? You would love an American Mastiff. You don't notice their size so much, except when you first get home after being gone all day. Then, it's "PET ME PET ME TOUCH ME TOUCH ME FEED ME LET ME OUT STAND STILL I LOVE YOU!!!!!" Otherwise, it's just like another, quieter person in the room. We taught him to heel, and he does that wherever we go, from the laundry room to the kitchen to the dining room to the bathroom to the bedroom...

I sit in a chair, and he stands across my knees (he has really long legs) because it's the closest he can get to sitting on my lap.

psst... I have eight dogs...two fosters. None of them know, either.... Especially not that man-eating blind peke with the gigantic Easter lily in her hair that she doesn't know about-courtesy of the kid .... and that 120 pound cattle dog with the pink collar with happy faces. If he only knew what that kid does to him....

thats a nice looking dog.. I had a Belgian Shepherd that looks similar to that dog. She was VERY smart!

I'm a Picardy Shepard, which is a sheep / cattle dog in France. That bothered me a bit, until I found out that it was origionally a Celtic dog, which is fine by me.
