Pull the GOP's FEEDING TUBE! (VANITY)
3-20-2005 | Terriergal

Posted on 03/20/2005 11:59:08 AM PST by Terriergal

The Republicans seems to be pandering to the 'religious right.' -- and awfully late in the game. I will have to stay a little longer if they do actually do the right thing here in this Schiavo case. If they don't, I am gone. I understand that means political irrelevancy for a while, at least on a national level, but it's not as if the donations I have given to the Republican party have actually done anything anyway.

I just posted this on another thread regarding the response to Terri VERBALLY pleading for her life:

"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Weller explained.

At that point, police removed Weller from Terri's hospice room and, later, her feeding tube was removed.

Apparently they didn't like Terri's accent. /sarcasm
This is pure unadulterated evil. If the Republicans cannot stop this when they have a majority in both houses, a Republican president, and a republican governor in the state in question, then they are worthless and don't deserve anyone's support anymore. If this woman dies because they got caught up in debate and refused, yes REFUSED to take action, (they have had PLENTY of time for this before now if they even cared) then I for one will not support the party anymore. I just can't. I have been hoping against hope too long.

It's Time to pull THE GOP's feeding tube.

It's like the kids complaining they have nowhere to sleep when the mom decides to leave the abusive father. It's her fault huh?

Great analogy!

Would you have quit being an American after the US lost at Pearl Harbor and numerous battles in the Pacific for more than a year afterwards?

Ever notice how your analogies are not analogous?

Stop trying to make the girl feel guilty because she exercises her conscience and places character above expediency.

What, exactly, is illegal about what Michael Shiavo wants to do?

The penumbra of the Constitution says the President has the power to send Federal Marshals to Florida to save Schiavo. He should immediately employ this power.

Actually the example was about modal differences, of which there are very few choices, just like there are very few choices for effective political parties.

So if someone gets so frustrated that they decide that they are just going to quit working, quit cleaning, quit bathing, and quit eating, you'd tell me not to try and dissuade them from such actions?

She's talking about quitting one of the only two parties that actually have any control over laws. To do so removes all access to power, which, like it or not, is the only means to get things done. You can't make changes without the power to do so.

Joining a third-party is exactly like Pontius Pilate asking the crowd who to free and washing his hands. It is a symbolic act, a self-gratifying statement, that removes a person from virtually any ability to make change, other than weakening that party that they were once a member of, and by weakening one of the only two parties it strengthens the other party, which stands for so much we claim we oppose.

They are all about quitting when someone is dissatified at the performance and there are only a very limited number of choices.

You seem as determined as Jonah to go sulk under 'your' vine. That's really going to help save Ninevah.

Or let's go to the most relevant Biblical story. Methinks that burying your talent because the choices for investing it are all imperfect and have risks will not be considered a wise decision.

First people don't run to third parties because they are not effective. Second the Bull Moose Party is 100% to blame for Wilson.

.... and most important, most people are not one issue voters. We will get mad but I damn sure don't intend to attack my Congressman over this matter. (BTW DeLay is my Congressman)

I watched the democrats have their little press conference about why they're opposed to this. The woman - and I can't remember her name, made a point of saying something about how it's odd that the Republican's who were just a few months ago going on about the sanctity of marriage were now stepping in between a husband and wife. I yelled at the television "Why don't you talk about his live-in girlfriend and their two kids?" Of course, that never gets mentioned.

The statement was "There is no reason for government interference in a private matter".
You are not the government. It is a private matter if your want to interfere in your family's private matters.
As for a husband beating family members the is unlawful abuse and the police should arrest him if he is reported.

Keep your money, I doubt if it is enough to be missed. I don't appreciate a fellow Republician threating my party to withhold their monitary support. That is no way to get anything done.

"Who are they going to run, McCain?"

Who are you trying to run? Arnold?

He's "republican" but I'd hate to talk to him face to face about being a republican. He'd get so mad he's break me. Still doesn't make him MY republican though.

"The Republicans (not conservatives), are the majority party by a slim margin."

And the problem still persists: we have activist judges, and a non-activist senate!

"ot perfect, but I have to make something happen using less than perfect resources. "

"buy a new car" seems the same as saying "join a third party" in this case. Both are logical. You have a job. I'd imagine that by showing up to it more often, you could afford to pay off a credit loan to get a new one.
