Fill in a Newbie

Posted on 03/15/2005 1:19:21 PM PST by RedBeaconNY

Hey, I'm new to the FReeping world, and I'm slightly baffled by some of the unique things to FreeRepublic. What the heck is a ZOT? Who are the viking kitties? Can somebody fill me in on the trolls, the BTTT's, etc? Thanks.

I have your I.P. address..I have your e mail...and I warned off a few proxies.

And FP has actually broken the internet on several occassions. I have witnessed it. Just not lately......

Welcome to FR. You and I have a couple lousy things in common. Mrs. Clinton and Chuckie represent us in the Senate..... Pituey.

Putting them on different lines doesn't seem to impact timing either.

Yeah. I think that it is synchronized to some timing thing.

We're now way over my head.

I liken this to my description of my understanding of certain aspects in Calculus in my business math that I took in college. I am in a dark room that I can walk around and I can feel the beast in the total darkness, but I can't really see (comprehend) it. LOL!

I actually made a decent grade in the class (a B, I think), but it was from sheer will power and effort.

LOL! :^D

Truth be known....Although Pudge might be MY kitty, other Freepers can call him into a ZOT. I don't mind. :-)

Welcome. It's nice to have more young people around here.

My daughter is a member, but she doesn't post much at all.

She's 17.

Wow, that's some photo, Grampa Dave! What kind of cat, is that?

The deer outside our window today felt so comfy - they both laid down in the snow and napped.

We don't have big cats around here, but wolves are around.

Well, this comment has nothing to do with Viking Kitties, BTTT, etc., but I think it is useful information.

I think it's pretty much up to the browser one uses. But, I sure could be wrong.

I've used many browsers and I didn't find them to do the same things. That's just my experience.

Hmm, I use Safari most of the time. I'll check the other browsers here on the computer.

To be honest, I had no idea what happened when I pushed Bookmark until I asked, "So, can someone tell me what actually happens when I hit Bookmark (and where does it go)?"

LOL - yes. It would be annoying especially if font size was changed to something very large and a bunch of people were posting to the thread before it was changed...and of course, the occassional joker who would change the font to white.
