"They could replace Paula with Charro! "

As long as Mikala doesn't replace Paula...

Who told Jessica her stomach was sexy?
She did not learn that sexy & slutty are not the same thing.

Well.. The general reaction at our American Idol party was casual disappointment. No one was heavily upset - Carrie is no Ruben. (Sad part is I had to look up his name..)

But this was a popularity contest and it was close up to this week between Bo and Carrie; the only voters who were really up for grabs were those who voted for Vonzell. That they broke more for Carrie than Bo is hardly shocking. That makes it a clean win in my mind.

And Carrie's song early in the show made the news much easier to take - she sang the song of her life. She's going to have a fair career and I hope it is much better than I suspect. Bo's likely will never reach the same peak as Carrie's, but likely will last a lot longer.

And it was great that there was a secondary message in all of this, a moral of the story - had Bo not gotten into trouble with drugs, he might have gained more votes, which might have made the difference. Them drugs can drastically affect your life.

So, long and short of it, there were a lot of winners tonight.

Oh wow, wasn't that wonderful?
So very, very happy for Carrie
and Bo was thrilled and so fun to watch.
They both won America's heart.

Didn't dare look at this thread...wanted to be surprised.

Jonny, thank you.

Wolfstar, your AI commentaries have been like an
oasis. More than just factual, they were poignant
and insightful.

Always a welcome read.

Thank you so much.

A bit? The poor kid would be nearly clear. (from someone who is nearly clear, but with brown hair herself ;-))

I was thinking "albino" myself .... (This from a fellow near-albino -- when I was little, my doc kept giving me blood tests for anemia because I was so pale!)

Well, then, this thread is a "spoiler" for our West Coasters. I wonder how many of them have the willpower not to log on here to find out who won in advance?

The last few weeks, I've gotten into the habit of logging on early, reading about half the posts ... and then gritting my teeth and pushing away from the computer! LOL! It is just better seeing it "live" on the tv. The only thing that bugs me about this method is that by the time I log on after the show (my tv and computer aren't in the same room) everyone has gone home .... :(

But I am happy for Carrie tonight!! I voted for Bo last night (after long cogitation) but heck, if she had sung last night the way she sang tonight, I think I would have voted for her instead. I am very happy for both Carrie and Bo. They seem very nice and genuine in their own different ways, and it looks to me like both of them have a good leg up on great careers. I just hope they keep their heads screwed on straight and make the most of it! I think they both have a good chance at that, actually, with their very supportive families.

So congrats to Carrie supporters! The joy in her face as she sang her final song and yelled "Thank you America!" was infectious.

And thank you, SJ, for hosting this thread! What a great idea! So much fun. I'm looking forward to next season!

Thank you jonny. You did a great job as the host of this thread.

I didn't post much because I couldn't watch until Wed. nite. But I enjoyed reading everyone's comments.

I wanted Carrie from the beginning, but I thought Bo was going to win because the judge's seemed to slam Carrie a lot.

Thanks again and please keep me on your ping list for AI and TAR.

Lousy living on the West Coast on these threads. By the time we see the shows everyone else is gone to bed! The first hour of the show stunk with a few exceptions, but the last hour rocked. Very happy for Carrie, my fave from the beginning along with Anthony. Sorry it is all over, but relieved too that I won't have to plan my life around the show! :-)

Just curious. Did he actually leave the stage, or just fade into the background?

My take was maybe he was shocked, thinking he was going to win. Rather than gracious. JMO

Here's the rest of the info on that dancing show. The name of it is "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?".

It is a joint production between American Idol, American Bandstand and the American Music Awards.

It was created by Idol producers, Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 TV Ltd. and Dick Clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro.

So it's another 19 Entertainment Production.

It's sure got some power names involved, that's for sure.

Someone who said he worked as a cameraman for the New York audition said that they were sending to Hollywood, all sorts of dancers, from classical and ballet to hip hop and jazz.

It also says that Fox may air it as early as the fall. I couldn't find anything about judges or voting stuff though.
