I'm sorry that it was Nikko who's gone. I liked him and voted for him for the past several weeks (along with Bo and Constantine). Nikko seemed like a young Sammy Davis Jr., multi-talented, hip, smooth, but a nice person, a real individual.

Constantine -- I know, we all hate "Lt. Dan", but let's give him some credit here, this was a good performance -- the best he's done by a long shot. Like Nadia, a weak last note was about the only issue I had. Bo -- Looks like he forgot some of the words, or had a serious lapse in diction. Still not the best voice in the competition, but did a good job with performing the song and adapting it to his style.

Agree totally. And I rate your overall review two thumbs up.

It's distressing that Fantasia has let herself go like she has. And to add to her weight problem, her choice of a costume did NOT flatter her. Whatever is AI thinking, surrounding her with advisers that give her such bad advice as to how to present herself?

I saw an article on her in a Black style magazine which complimented her hairstyle. I don't think it flatters her, IMO.

Oops, sorry - I meant "speech"...

Well, I'm sure she has excellent medical oversight ... I'll keep her in my prayers. Couldn't hurt!

Anwar prob. siphoned off some of Nikko's fan base. Anwar has personality plus, and he mugs for the camera with his killer smile.

I couldn't see Bo belting out a showtune like "People", so his choice of a fast-moving song from Pippin was a good one. I'll continue to vote for him and Constantine.

Actually, I could see Bo doing something from a more contemporary show like "Dreamgirls".

"People" is from Funny Girl, the Fanny Brice story. Fanny was another abused woman with a gangster boyfriend...in real life.

Glad you're enjoying AI. I think it' the only primetime show with a "G" rating, so the whole family can watch and root for their faves.

Me too.
We made it back from our out of town trip just in time for the show tonight.

KV wanted the wild haired hippy dressing black girl to go home. Because she looks like a lefty he says. Now Now son. LOL

It was nice to go to the valley and take care of his medical business all is OK on his ear and trach scope. YES!

So I took him to the Winco, college age girls, to wander around and he asked the fish/meat counter girl for her autograph since she looks just like Brittney Spears. She giggled he laughed and she said "SURE" which name mine or Brittneys, he said Brittney.

He now has it on his picture board so when his respite care provider comes tommarrow he can brag that he met Brittney Spears and has her autograph to prove it, let her hang for awhile untill he gets his chuckles.

Well big boy Scott was safe tonight.

I am starting to see the Bo attraction. I find men with long hair yucky but looking past the hair he is quite handsome. A better looking young Ted Nugent.

KV likes collecting Coca Cola stuff so of couarse the American Idol Coke six pack bottles have a place in the mix now.

I am getting the hang of Amer. Idol now Tues. is singing and tonight is the half hour results and good bye to one contestant.

"...his choice of a fast-moving song from Pippin was a good one."

Bo has done a good job of picking good songs for himself, I think. Esp. when he's out of his genre he does a good job.

What ever happened to melodic singers like Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr. (in his earlier days), and so many other superb examples? Sigh. The screeching, caterwauling, and rythmic speech (rap) that passes for black "music" these days is, frankly, an insult to the great contribution so many earlier black singers and musicians made to American popular music.

There's always Vonzelle... I think some people are dismissing her too easily...

Re post 1861 .... Simon is that you

Naaaahhhh. I'm not nearly mean or sarcastic enough to be Simon. But it does give me a goal to shoot for.

Diana D's CD. It's very good.

My complaint is that based on the iTunes 30-second preview, every song sounded basically the same. A little more variety wouldn't hurt. (I did download her version of "I Believe" from last year's finale, as well as "Don't Cry Out Loud"... gotta love that free iTunes Pepsi promotion...)

But maybe Carousel? No he's not right for that either. But he could rock in some show!

Assuming it ever stops playing its initial run, maybe revive "Phantom of the Opera" with Clay as the Phantom in about 10 years... it wouldn't have the same impact if he just stepped in now.

I'm not sure why Bo didn't do something from The Who's "Tommy."

she wouldn't be under contract to AI.

Once you get to the final 12, Simon owns you, whether you go all the way or not. That is why Mario left.

The rule was "nothing modern". Tommy didn't get a stage treatment until the 90's.
