Last Star Wars 'not for children' film-maker George Lucas has said.

The sixth and final Star Wars movie may not be suitable for young children, film-maker George Lucas has said. He told US TV show 60 Minutes that Revenge of the Sith would be the darkest and most violent of the series.

"I don't think I would take a five or six-year-old to this," he told the CBS programme, to be aired on Sunday.

Lucas predicted the film would get a US rating advising parents some scenes may be unsuitable for under-13s. It opens in the UK and US on 19 May.

the ewoks were originally supposed to be wookies. But lucas went for the "david and goliath" theme with them instead of the wookies, because they wouldnt be a real match for the empire.

Good memory! I remember that. Guy must have gone to the same tanning salon as John Kerry.

Yeah, I can imagine. Drank silver because he was afraid of Y2K. I'm sure he's one of the best they can offer as a "serious" candidate.

"Goofy and Roger Rabbit ... stupid weird talking thing"

That character was an insult to the audience and ruined the films ten fold. Didn't he do any focus groups of the fans?

The first films were good because they were original. Perhaps the new films, even with super computer graphics, will never be as fresh and inspiring. (Although moderate acting might help. How many actors who would do anything to be cast for this are there out there for goodness sake.)

That right there is the reason Trekkies annoy the crap outta me. Eh, never liked Star Trek much myself. Give me Star Wars anyday. And of course, of that group, Empire is THE film. Though I must say the new preview for Ep. III looks brilliant.

5 and 6 year olds really shouldn't be taken to most movies, IMNSHO.

Some parents are either clueless or selfish that way.

Based on the last 2, I wouldn't take anyone.

It amazes me the judgemental attitude of folks who saw a movie when they were 12 declaring that the latest version, written for 13 year olds, is not up to "their standards."

I was in the FIRST audience to pay money to see Star Wars (now known as "A New Hope: Star Wars Episode IV") in a theater.

Anywhere.

Get over it.

The new films are equal to, or better than, the original films. That IS NOT A QUESTION OPEN TO DEBATE.

We have grown up and want our fantasies to grow up with us.

Get over it.

When all nine films (Yes, 9) are done our grandchildren will look back at them and pass final judgement.

Enjoy them for what they are, todays equivelant of the old Saturday morning serials of the 30s. If you can't understand that then I don't care what you think about MY MOVIES.

The sixth and final Star Wars movie may not be suitable for young children,

And his last two were not suitable for adults.

Ok the fight scene was extremely good.

Of course it is 'open to debate.' Maybe not in North Korea, though.
