Wow! Thanks for the info, I've updated our running tally on the blog page.
Black. I don't like olives, but even I know that green olives are hardly glorious.
Well, I officially have a job interview on Thursday. It's promising...seems like a job I'd enjoy. This isn't the gubmint one - it's for a computer repair place. The pay is better than the other, and I'd likely deal with more people, which is a good thing in my book. The only catch is that they're really looking for A+ certified techs, and though I'm sure I could pass the test given a bit of study time, I don't have the certification right NOW. One of those things that I kept meaning to get around to, but as it involved a long drive to a strange city (*shudder*), I never got a round tuit. We'll see how flexible this place is about that criteria...
In any case, I could use some prayers for Thursday at two o'clock Mountain Time.
Also did some furniture scouting. The Goodwill type place near here has some desks. I'm foolishly lusting after a VEY heavy old wooden office desk. Since I only have a laptop, I don't really neeeeed a 'puter desk, and that desk has some character. Sam Spade desk. ;-)
Hmm, so we both need prayer at 2 on Thursday (my test starts then). Makes it easy for folks.
Evening Winmag; Thanks for the update, that is an impressive list of 'cutlery'.
Evening All - didn't hear the news till just on the way driving home, how bout that. That is fantastic news. It is also something to keep our liberal brethern in a dither about. Our local drive home talk guy had two Catholics on the line, one lib (unhappy) one conservative (happy). Heh-heh.
that means that the right man was selected...
I hope he starts out by whacking upside the heads of a few American bishops
I'd buy tickets fer that...
Wellll, we wouldn't, unless you mix it 50-50 with something like the peat and perlite. That stuff is seriesly not plant friendly.
Our raised beds are compost and topsoil, still we need to top it off again every few years, don't know where it goes, except down through the cracks we get during a drought. You can loose MissKitty in the average drought crack in our clay.
hehhehheh...heh heh...
she said "tool"...
Good luck on your interview tomorrow!
err.... Interview Thursday! ;~D
Ant hills are waking up with warmer temps. Ants are good, they eat fly larvae out of the manure piles you know ;~D
Franklin Graham looks and sounds more like his Daddy every day! He's a truly faithful Christian.
Wow!! That's a load of knives! Great job, winmag!
Maybe he likes martinis! ;o)
God bless yuh...
It's got no zest.
have a soil test... fertilizer and lime are cheaper than you think... cost us $400 fer fertilizer fer 10 acres... and it was really really poor soil... lime is even cheaper, and will sweeten the soil by correcting the PH...
they have buggys at the CoOp they let you use to spread your own... no charge... might wanna check at the fertilizer plant there... you can't mix lime and fertilizer, so you'll need two trips...
if'n you use pelletized lime, you'll need about 200 lbs per acre... pelletized lime costs about $5 per 100 lbs (vs pulverized fer $17 a ton, but yuh need a special spreader truck)... the only problem with the lime is, you don't see results fer approx 6 months, unlessn you werk it intuh the soil with a disc or other light implement... pelletized lime is quicker, but you won't see results for a few months unless you werk it in...
as long as you keep the loads reasonable, a half ton truck could do the job...
The project is growing, so the need for funds grows too. It's not just one name we get from someone in the Hobbit Hole, or FR, now. With almost 500 knives out there with our name on them, more troops are seeing and hearing of them. Emails arrive, asking for one, or three, or thirty, for the whole platoon. We don't have to "beat the bushes" for names, the names roll in on their own.
Right now, I have a "cushion" of about two dozen folders, and over a dozen sheath knives. That cushion can deflate quickly, so more knives, and funds, are always welcome.
And yes, I accept checks or PayPal. Freepmail me for the details.
Shaken, not stirred.
Thanks... We've been thinking of liming it, because I suspect it would help and lime is super cheap. Fertilizing has been more of a mystery, I stare at the bags, but just haven't been sure how much and how to spread it.
Our CoOp folks are clowns... I asked them at the fair about soil testing, or coming out to look at it, and they just stared blankly at me. I don't think ours do that. ;~D
