The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's gonna be in the EIGHTIES this Saturday!

Hope the rent-a-car has A/C! It's 82 here today and absolutely gorgeous. We just got back from doing errands. Got my sewing machine cleaned, so had to pick it up. I'm going to make a costume for Clare for the Anime convention which is in two weeks. Actually I'm going to make two of the same thing because it's all white, and just in case she spills something on it, she'll have another to change into while cleaning the dirty one. It's just a knee length sleeveless, button up the front duster. It's a fairly easy pattern, but it's gonna look neat!

Yet another sign of the work of the Lord!

LOL!! Jay Severin started his show today by saying that the Cardinals delivered a spanking to the 'Ameri-Catholics'. Heh.

I'm guessing it was one of 3 things.

A lighthouse. (Not likely)
A customized South Park "HairoftheDog". (Good probability)
A mooning gif of some sort. (Pretty darned sure).

*grin*

Amazing how it all fell into place.

When the Pope passed away, they were interviewing Franklin Graham on TV and I don't know if you've ever noticed it, but he ALWAYS ALWAYS gives the plan of salvation before the media can even stop him. I kinda think it's hysterically funny...because he just plows ahead and doesn't take a breath and give them a chance to stop him.

Anyway, I was just sitting there listening to them interview him and thinking "Any minute, he's going to start doing it!" Then the interviewer asked "What is your take on this as a protestant (or something like that) and he said "Well, there are many doctrinal items we disagree on, but it's the main substance that we agree on that I like to focus on, like having faith in Jesus Christ and that only by accepting Him do we come into His kingdom" and boy, off he went! I started cheering and laughing because it was just so typical and had been just what I was waiting for. He never lets the chance pass to get out the Good News.

I just love Franklin Graham. I think his daddy, bless him, he's a good man, but I think he tends to be a bit PC out of politeness. Franklin seems to be much less so!

I will. I promise, I'll take it tomorrow.

Probably won't help the engine light though...it's been on for what? A year? Ha!

My old truck had the check engine light on for years. The dealer told me it was the catalytic converter gone bad, but I didn't believe him.

Especially when they wanted to charge me $600 to fix it Yeah, right.

I took it to AutoZone and they ran a check on it and it was also the catalytic converter! It drives fine, other than the shimmy when I hit a bump!

What make was your old truck?

Feeling inspired to do good deeds today, I mailed more knife packages to the troops. I also whittled away at the backlog of knives that have been engraved, but not yet readied for shipment. I also took count of what we've done so far.

As of today, we've shipped:

365 CRKT 5700s

96 Ka-Bar folders

7 Camillus 409S folders

1 Camillus seatbelt cutter

20 Camillus "Black Ops" sheath knives

1 Camillus CQB1

3 Camillus BK2 "Campanion"

1 Camillus BK3 "Tactool"

We also have commitments to ship another 40 or so folding knives in the near future. These numbers are just for knives with the "Hobbit Hole" mark. The two Extrema Ratios and about a dozen other knives are not included in that count, since they didn't have our HH mark on them.

The godless liberals are pissed at Ratzinger, so this is great news.

Hehehehe.

So do you think that taking the name "Benedict" qualifies him for "Glory of the Olives" even though he's not a Benedictine?

Thanks for the update Winmag! We're gonna be sending you a check, been awhile since we've been able to give much, but with a tax refund coming and ecurbh's new job, I think we'll start giving more regularly. Are you well set with donations or should we remind everyone else of how and why to donate?

I think the people who would find any way to connect any pope with "olives" will say so...

WooHoo! I've got a trench! Miss Cat is confused.

Do ya think I should use some of that clay in the raised beds?
