You are transposing touchy feely validations to what is a insult to our forum family. We can never control the members personality or rational. We have rules of conduct, and those are generally enforced across the board, but opinion are not and cannot/should not be regulated.

if Shaun told the truth, the time he was here was in the middle of a family squabble of major proportions. I remember it well, and it has long passed.

Those members who left during that time are now trashing FR from outside the forum and Shaun has joined that group with his comments.

Interesting comments below by JimRob on banning the outrageous ones. He and the mods do a good job keeping today's FR free of the many of the problems that Sean no doubt was alluding to. It's a fine balance between the site's self-censorship and a free-for-all. IMO, Jim has the balance just about right.

________ was banned because he is a whining antifreeper. There are several on FR and I allow it till I get fed up. I've had enough of ______. _____ and others could suddenly find themselves without posting priviliges when and if I get tired of the constant flamewars, but when that day comes there may be a whole lot of posters on both sides gone. You might ask yourself why the other side is still here and posting also. There is no beginning and no end to these wars and no clean hands on either side. I try to ignore it and let them rip each others eyes out until something flares up that I can no longer tolerate.

I think we are made of stronger stuff---after reading as much as I could of yesterday's Sean thread, I kinda got a feeling that most long time posters felt like I did---

more disappointed that Sean used Fr to promote his new playtoy, than really critiquing FR and freepers---

as for an apology, it won't affect my opinion of FR one way or another and I really think most Freepers care more about this website than we do about Hannitys radio, tv show, or his opinion of us...

You got that right. I don't care what Sean or anyone else says- FR is the best. I love it here. I talk about different FReepers like I know them and they are my friends. As I have said many, many times before - we have been through (thanks to your live threads!) through some very emotional things together and even though we may not physically be together we are together in spirit. I love my fellow FReepers like they are my family.

Any time you voice an opinion a political opinion you can bet at least 20% of the folks on your side are not going to like it. Of that 20% there will be a minority that will attack you personally for putting forth such a "stupid" idea. Hannity is a big boy and has gone "round the block" a time or two. He knows this. FR has thousands and thousands of posters, if Freepers really wanted to take hannity to the wood shed his butt would be sore for months.

Hannity was just trying to promote HIS site by dissing this one. Very very bad.
