A new report recently highlighted in Ruy Teixeira's valuable Public Opinion Watch shows that one of the bright spots for the Democrats in the 2004 election was their performance among single women. The study, done by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner for Womens' Voices/Women Vote, showed that the "marriage gap is a defining dynamic in today's politics, eclipsing the gender gap, with marital status a significant predictor of the vote, independent of the effects of age, race, income, education or gender."
As Teixeira writes, the new research shows that unmarried women, who voted overwhelmingly for Kerry, "are social and economic progressives advancing a tolerant set of values." One more reason to oppose marriage. (Click here to check out the full report.)
I'm a single women who vote for Bush!!
BTW:women who voted for Kerry "are social and economic progressives advancing a tolerant set of values."
Reads: "I want the government to fund my abortions."
Yes, but the *attractive* single women voted for Bush. At least that's the impression I got hanging around the BC-04 campaign and Republican HQ this year.
From a personal experience, I would tend to agree with Hoevel. Most of the women I date (from NYC and the burbs) are very liberal, very democratic and very schizophrenic. I suppose that is why I don't go back for seconds. I miss goo dold mid-western ladies (grew up in Illinois). Most are also quite insecure as many are in the early, mid-thirties and are still single, unmarried and child-less....Flkame away...
I didn't. Yuck.
LOL! There's a lot of that going around, so did I! :)
Single, progressive, tolerant...in other words, they voted to keep the abortion clinics open. For their health.
If Katrina says it, it has to be an absolute truth;^)
Are those chicks???
The one on the left has a "happy trail" on her stomach, and not just a little one!
More or less. :^)
Ha! I just love defying the statistics.
Several of my single female co-workers also did not vote for {shudder!} Kerry.
Maybe it's because we're not lesbians? ;-)
Meaning they are poor unattractive lesbians in traing.
And they both have more hair in their armpits than I do. Yuck!
Scary !
We shouldn't over-generalize however. It is mostly a certain, common, form of unmarried woman (generally younger or much older) that acts/votes in this way -- not the many that are self-sufficient and politically astute.
Wow. What an Orwellian collection of deceptive trash. Of course, "progressive" is liberal-speak for "amoral socialist." And haven't we all figured out that "tolerant set of values" means "no values at all", and "we'll screech like intolerant banshees at the mention of real values?"
Mike
"Happy trails to you......"
