The Alien pulls the plug on Dreamwork's production of 'Aliens 4'
by Casey Flynn

A month before production was about to begin on 'Aliens 4,' the Alien pulled out of the project, citing problems with the script. A week before, Ridley Scott, the director of 'Alien', had officially signed on to direct the film. Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerrit, Ian Holmes, and Bill Paxton had as well signed on to be in 'Aliens 4. Unfortunately, in the Alien's contract, he/she was given script approval, and at the last minute, the Alien invoked this contract provision, rejected the Walter Hill script (the writer of Aliens), and refused to do the picture unless the script was revised. Hollywood insiders suspect that this is all a ploy, and that the Alien is really holding out for more money.

Jokezine.com has the exclusive interview with the Alien on its cattle ranch outside of Roswell, New Mexico.

Q: A lot of people in Hollywood think that you're not going to do Aliens 4 not because of the script, but because of the money that you are or not being paid?
A (sip of martini): I believe that's a mischaracterization.

Q: It's true that you were just paid scale for the first 'Alien' and James Cameron's sequel - Aliens.
A: That's not true, I received scale for 'Alien', I was paid somewhat better for 'Aliens'.

Q: But it is true that you threatened to walk off the set of 'Aliens' if Cameron didn't give you more money, and in fact, Cameron said, 'Well if he walks, we'll just go back to Roswell, and find ourselves another alien.'
A: (sip of martini and takes a drag of his cheroot): Let's just say, I told James let's see if you can find another alien actor who can rip out of a human's stomach and nail the blocking for that scene in one take.

Q: Were you resentful that perhaps you were typecast by the 'Alien' movies?
A: It was definitely a problem. I had difficulty finding work in say romantic comedies or serious dramas.

Q: Is that why you returned to the stage in London?

A: Well, I never left the stage and yes I did return to the Old Vic to play in Shakespeare's comedy 'Measure for Measure', and then I played Iago in 'Othello' before returning to New York to play Vanya in Chekov's Uncle Vanya.

Q: Do you feel that Hollywood has blackballed you?
A: Well everyone knows, who runs Hollywood?

Q: Of course, you're referring to -
A: Homo sapiens.

Q: In fact, you're an outspoken critic of how aliens are portrayed in Hollywood?
A: I'm presently the president of the Alien anti-defamation league, I serve on a board with Alf, Steve Buscemi and Barbara Streisand.

Q: You don't think that rolls for aliens have improved in Hollywood?
A: Let's just say that there's not a lot of positive role models being put forth on television for gestating aliens.

Q: How do think they're portrayed?
A: Most aliens are depicted as homicidal, mucus-dripping, reptilian flesh-eating monsters, intent on world domination, and that's just factually inaccurate. In fact, 48% of all aliens are Amway representatives, who pay taxes.

Q: Income?
A: Sales taxes are taxes.

Q: There have been rumors in the tabloids regarding your sexual orientation. I mean, you're over 130, you never married, you still live at home, now I know you may say that you stay at home because you like your mother's cooking, but -
A: -- we eat our food raw -
Q: You've been linked to E.T. and Kevin Spacey -

A: My private life is just that . . .

Q: Let's talk about your engagement to Sigourney Weaver, and the subsequent breakup. Is it true that she had a restraining order on you?

A: Absolutely not.

Q: I have two pictures that I'd like to show you. Is this a picture of you putting a pod in the back of Sigourney Weaver's car?

A: That's a spare tire, in case she had a flat.

Q: What about this picture? It appears that you're leaving a pod in her kitchen.

A: That's an oversized, green-colored empanada. It's no secret, I enjoy Spanish cooking.

I thought Ressurection was the fourth Alien movie. She should have pulled out of that one 'cause it sicked bad time!

I'm told I should give 3 another chance. The only time I tried to watch it, I nearly died of boredom. The first two movies are good, though. They should drop the evil corporation angle, though, and go for an Origin Movie. They should also drop the Rippley character.

IOW, find a new direction and go in it.
