LOL! "Won't somebody think of the CHILDREN?!"
The movie is making money and so far most of the people who I know that saw said it was a good movie.
I disagree. The ending sucked, and the rest seemed like some silly combo remake of The Ring and Final Destination... both better movies.
I thought it was about Madonna. I guess thats still scary enough.
I don't care about critic's opinions anyway. Two of the most enjoyable movie experiences I've had over the past couple of years have been VAN HELSING and LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN.
I always listen to the critics. And do just the opposite. (Although they rightfully trashed 'Alexander'.)
He's Batman!
Thanks. I just emailed a friend about 20 minutes ago. We're planning to go to the movies. I suggested White Noise since I'd seen the movie review and I liked what I saw. I also read the brief summary in the local paper. Another one I liked based on the movie review was "National Treasure". Have you seen it? If so what do you think of it?
White Noise.
I saw the previews for this when I was at the theater to see Friday Night Lights. I literally crawled up into my seat I was so freaked out by the previews. I definitely want to see it.
I thought Sideways was terrific!
However, still don't understand the connection with the title of the movie. Anyone have an opinion?
This movie was TERRIBLE...the previews made it seem like a Ghostly horror movie, but it morphs into some stupid murder mystery...another example of the previews distorting the true plot of the movie.
Is this based on the book by DeLillo. I've been a fan of his since the late 70's when I read End Zone. That book was brilliant, funny, terrifically structured, and was unlike anything I'd ever read up to that point.
Scientists are big-time hands off this topic. Some stuff is hard to disprove: HERE for a non-politcal distraction sometime.
Saw Dances with Wolves for the first time in i dont know how many years on A&E the other day.
That film was great when you view it from an American Indian perspective. It gives me a torn attitude between our invasion of their lands and our zeal for progress and liberty (for ourselves as former pheasants).
All in all I would say the Indians (or should I say Native American..ahem) were a highly intriguing group and mostly misunderstood. Their tribal and disorganized society gave them no chance to protect their lands.
I wonder what would have happened had the early settlers respected Indian lands rather than take it by force. Would we be as powerful of a nation as we are today?
(mind you I have no guilt over this event as I had no part of it. I am conscience of the fact that our country is where it is today because of brutality onto the Indians. It is a time in our history that bleeds of misunderstanding, selfishness and greed but happened nonetheless.)
With a few exceptions (LOTR comes to mind), you're perfectly safe avoiding the movies the critics love and going to the ones they trash. Sometimes they hate movies that normal people hate, like GIGLI, but it's pretty rare.
MM
I watched it. The ending was .... wasn't.... didn't make much sense to me. Maybe I missed something,
No doubt. The standard should be set to where a critic needs at least a simple majority of votes in the UN Security Council for a Movie Critic License ;-)
Thanks for the review. I had heard that it was disappointing but was interested in seeing for myself. I have always enjoyed Michael Keaton so I just may go.
