Zimbabweans eat lion that ate their livestock

HARARE, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Villagers took revenge on a lion that killed their livestock by barbecuing and eating it, Zimbabwe's state-owned Sunday Mail newspaper said.

"It ate our animals, so it is only fair that we eat it too," a villager said. The paper said some believed they would get lion-like bravery and strength from the meat.

The lion -- part of a pride that terrorised the Zimbabwean village for more than six months -- was shot dead by parks authorities. In an unusual move, villagers demanded the carcass.

Lion farts are reportedly the grossest farts on earth.

Were you the judge in a contest? Who in the heck did the study on that?

I was under the impression that predators and scavengers taste terrible.

They may, but it beats eating termites and weeds.!!

Seriously, crabs and lobsters are scavangers, of rotten fallen to the bottom of the ocean stuff, and they taste fine to most people.

Most game tastes "gamey" because of the sharp flavored herbs and grasses they munch on, or they are simply too old and tough. A little extra longer in the marinade, more slow cooking with a sealed lid to retain juices, and the flavor improves tremendously. (I'm getting hungry, think I'll go prepare the elk roast my neighbor layed on me.)

Bears scavenge mostly, though a really hungry one might take an occassional deer. They attack people to protect territory or young, because of fear, or because people are often just stupid. ( Come on bear, get in the car so I can take a picture!)

If poultry are predators where you live...you might consider moving!

You have never seen them hunt? I raised a few Rhode Island Reds that would clear my property of snakes. That was fascinating to watch.

LOL! Yes I've seen chickens catch snakes. But they are still not classified as predators!

So killing and eating snakes is not a predatorial behavior? Amusing yes, agreed. But if they eat meat and hunt and kill???

I was under the impression that predators and scavengers taste terrible.

Carl Ican and George Soros would taste terrible, however the king of beast is a bit gamey tasting although you could stomach it.
