"Reminds me of the Nermal"

The Nermal...LOL! Nermal is back to his old, contrary, but lovable, self and is frequently in full power whining mode. He will really enjoy having the kids here for Christmas. He is already getting their beds ready by making sure there is some fresh cat hair on the nice, clean bedding. He will have them catering to his every whim, and I won't see much of him for the whole week.

It is Rudyard Kipling.
A Mongoose is a ferret like critter that specifically fights snakes in India.

But, I must head off to my dark repose yet again.

May these hours keep,
lay still in blessed sleep
The hours till dawn may tick away,
while in dream we tarry and play
And with dawn's first light,
brushing away the dreams of night.

"do you know anything about Mourning Doves?"

They nest on the ground and are generally not seen at night. They are supposedly ground feeders, but the ones I have apparently didn't read the book because a couple of them compete with the cardinals and titmice for the open, above ground feeder. I was just reading somewhere the other day that they are very hearty birds and will winter quite far north. In warm climates, they will breed year round, otherwise, they breed twice a year. Make sure there is a fresh water supply and as long as they are healthy, I wouldn't worry about them for the cold.

"There is some meaning to that kind of dream, but I forget what it is."

I think it often means that you are feeling vulnerable or exposed in a certain area of your life.

"I hope this doesn't mean dreams are contagious. :) If we all start having the same ones we can worry."

LOL! That reminds me of the episode of Northern Exposure (I love that show) where everyone in town was having super bizarre dreams that made no sense to them. They finally figured out they were having each other's dreams. If that happened to us, we would be in a whole heap o' hurt.

"They do sometimes get used to people keeping an eye on them."

They get used to people. I have a couple of woodpeckers that don't even bother to leave the feeders when I approach to fill them until I am almost close enough to touch them. Then they watch me from a very nearby branch. They know who looks after them. My dad had some that used to watch for him from his garage roof every evening because he always goes out to fill the feeders about the same time every evening.

I stopped at the feed store earlier to check on getting a defroster for the birdbath. The birds and squirrels all depend on it, and it was frozen solid this morning. I went out and added some warm water, but that didn't last too long before freezing again. The problem with the defrosters is needing electricity, and I don't have an outdoor outlet. I've never checked to see if I have one in the shed, but I don't think so. I'm wondering if they make them that are battery powered. There is so little need for it here. It just doesn't get below freezing that much.

Stunning. I really wish I could get ambitious enough to decorate outdoors, but I guess that is just something you do when you have a lot of time and help. I have neither.

HELLO????? It was a Halloween party! What's next....sensitivity to witches, demons and fairies? That's just plain silly.
