In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.
This word is pronounced new sense.
Etymology: French again. Sheesh!

2) law An offense, annoying obnoxious or obnoxious thing that or practice: a cause or source of annoyance that although a single act is usually a continuing or repeated invasion or disturbance of anothers right.

Why is it I can never get the blue font on the second word? It is driving me CRAZY!
RULES: You must use the WFTD in a sentence for an A. For a + after your A, you must bring in a link of the word usage or something funny, a poem or some prose that will elucidate the word for us.
If you need to know how to link, come to the Subbies desk in the front of the class.
"Terrorism is a nuisance." John F. Kerry.
Oh wait, but that's not very good usage, let me try again,
"Democrats are a nuisance." There, I like that better.
Haven't seen you before. Welcome aboard!
Dang close, Tx.
We have got our sandwich here for the day. Two outside breads and TxBec in the middle!
Are you feeling better?
A++++ for you. Hey, you brought in two threads. Nice work!
That's the object of the game. But you did use the WFTD, so you get an A!
well look at you!
Yes, I am much better, thank you. I am leaving on my two-way radio to work from home, though. I am going to have to wipe down my office with Lysol on Monday.
I think I have one more day of forcing liquids. My youngest son made a pot of onion soup for me yesterday. (He was surprised to find that it's not just for dip.)
xshub called me from Puerto Rico this AM. apparently the trip is more of a nuisance than anything else. He had nowhere to stay last night, nowhere to plug in the laptop and his cellphone is out of battery. i asked where he was calling from and he said it is probably going to cost $50 and that he would tell me later when he could...talk. I am wondering if he is in the slam down there in the PR, bc i am quite sure that if he was told at the hotel that there was some mistake, he would murder someone. His snapshot impression of the PR..... as he said to me this AM.... "come se dice $h!tho!e? he is not a happy camper....
