Sounds like your hubby is about to lose his patience in a big way-my dad was posted in Puerto Rico for nearly 3 years when I was a child-we didn't count it as a favorite place. My brother was also posted there for 2 years recently-he says it has only changed for the worse-an island tourist trap full of rude people whose rapid fire conversation consists of a dialect that requires ending every other sentence with the word "man"...

I saw that photo yesterday. Did your wife really have a baby yesterday on Veterans' Day? If so, congratulations. You've got a kicker there.

Good Morning Miss Slippy. Here is my homework for your reading pleasure:

John Kerry, nuisance extraordinaire, apparently decided that the best way to start the healing process that he called for in his concession speech would be to disparage the service of AG John Ashcroft. It's good to see that he is trying to unite rather than divide. (Kerry denounces Ashcroft, says administration will be better without him)

Unlike Kerry, Ashcroft understands, as does Rudy Guiliani, that there is no acceptable "nuisance" level of terrorism. (Giuliani: What Level of Terrorism Is Just A 'Nuisance'?) That is just one of many reasons that Ashcroft was an excellent AG, and the democrats should join Terrence Jeffrey in thanking Mr. Ashcroft. (Thank you, John Ashcroft)

So Jean Querrie wanted to return to the era when terrorism was just a nuisance like gambling and prostitution. (When was that anyway?) His campaign informed us that his series of contradictory positions on almost every imaginable issue is not really hypocritical opportunistic flip-flopping, but rather is nuance. His plans for subjecting US foreign policy to a global test, presumably administered by the UN, also turned off many voters. The UN is an eccentric collection of America-hating, terrorist coddling, corrupt buffoons to whom we will never accede our sovereignty. The left just doesn't understand this country. They simply can't grasp that since an ugly ruling from the Massachussetts Supreme Court literally threatened the institution of marriage in every state, voters mobilized across the nation to keep their own state laws from being overturned by a few perverts whose idea of a compliment is "Oooh, nice anus!" With that kind of mentality, they won't return to majority status in a century. They will continue to run in ceaseless campaigns that appeal to the extreme fringes, but they won't capture the heartland. Of course, going into the debates, Jean Querrie found that soaking his face in suntanning cream resulted in a photographic disaster. The voters didn't buy it and have sent him back to the senate, where he isn't really there often enough to do too much damage. This is one of the things that makes the USA nice: November arrives, we vote, and the results are the results. There is no rioting or violent attempts to overturn the results (although some democrats were threatening it in some places). Long after the results were pretty clear, Querrie waited to concede, just in case union goons could round up enough fraudulent votes to steal the election in Ohio. But truth prevailed since unambiguous margins of victory in Florida and Ohio made a Querrie theft of the election impossible. Meanwhile, Tereza is passed out in a Holiday Inn, sauced by a few too many raisins. The more we got to know her, the more thoroughly we were convinced that she is insane; cue the men in the white coats with the straight-jackets and rubber hoses.

Interesting article on why we hate hospital gowns...from someone who just doesn't get it.

woman's clothes are her markers of individual identity; removing them effectively communicates the message that she is no longer autonomous, but dependent on the institution. Like the identical uniforms of Marine basic trainees, the hospital gown indicates the woman's liminal status:

Do any of them have jobs?

I think the more important question is "Do you think this new sport of coffin surfing will catch on in the US? Future olympic event?"
