My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Thank You, Sarge, for being so gracious to our new poet.
And how nice the White Knight came with you.:-)
To: bentfeather
Heh heh... part and parcel of the package, Madam.
Shall we dance, this night?

Oh yes, that would be lovely. Shall you lead??

So here at evening's call,
friends and fondness meet in the hall,
horse and palfrey bedded in the stall,
their riders not needing them this night.
Lights twinkling in candles and eyes,
Without only nightwind and hoot-owl cries,
Within this place contented sighs,
as we dance away the twilight.

The smell of Jasmine in the air
the glow of the sun hung low
the shadow of your smile is
inviting and the night things
murmur low
The sweetness of a summer's night
the warm and waxing moon is bright
and dancing past the clock's toll is right
lighting bugs all in flight
on a jasmine summer night

Talk of winter, do,
A season of romance, too!
Warmth from hearth and heart,
friends and much more, sitting apart,
the world passes by them,
they have each other to warm them,
what care they of winds or snow,
when basking in hearts-glow?

A winter love is most profound
a silver haired woman found
the snugness of the quilt of love
was a gift from heaven above.
The cold winds blow
the hearth is warm
the woman is sheltered from
the storm from a cup of lovingness
A gentle love to grow old
with sweet memories to unfold
evenings by a fire warm
companionship oh so sweet
and toastie slippers for her feet

Now, shall we move through winter to spring?
Such a thought, and an exciting thing!
Buds and bees, birdsong and flowers,
pine trees and branch-covered bowers,
Lilting music, the stirring of the earth,
Spring can lend value to a love's full worth,
tended in the loam, growing into fruit,
Spring will make all the sadness and cold moot!

Spring carries in a new romance
with elder berries and mints too
with tulips covered all in dew
I love the best when there is you
Ah, a summer love, is it best
to reach full bloom and hold
it close to the vest or
will it burn out like a star
and leave one wondering where you are.
A Summer wind blows warm 'tis true
clothing lite and colored blue
and picnics held by a brook or two
with fireflies dancing in the dusk
and a full moon turning to rust

Shall we share the autumn weather?
There we, together, sword and feather,
kick through the leaves on the trail,
press our hands upon fence rail,
watching horses gambole in the meadow,
smell the pumpkin pie cooling by the window,
parties, dinners, gladness reigns
and only the gardner, raking leaves, complains,
Each season knows it's love
as moon and star shine up above.

oh Sarge how wonderful, thank you so much. I am really tired now and need to get horizontal soon.
I have enjoyed this dance more than you can know.
God Bless.
