Now, shall we move through winter to spring?
Such a thought, and an exciting thing!
Buds and bees, birdsong and flowers,
pine trees and branch-covered bowers,

Lilting music, the stirring of the earth,
Spring can lend value to a love's full worth,
tended in the loam, growing into fruit,
Spring will make all the sadness and cold moot!

Spring carries in a new romance
with elder berries and mints too
with tulips covered all in dew
I love the best when there is you

Ah, a summer love, is it best
to reach full bloom and hold
it close to the vest or
will it burn out like a star
and leave one wondering where you are.

A Summer wind blows warm 'tis true
clothing lite and colored blue
and picnics held by a brook or two
with fireflies dancing in the dusk

and a full moon turning to rust
