Why did John Kerry assume that only Bush, himself and Charlie Gibson make more than $200,000. What an elitist attitude and direct slap in the face of the audience and the people of St. Louis. Kerry is condescending in his manner of speaking and his comment completely betrayed his arrogance. I was hoping for someone from the audience to stand up and say 'I am one of those evil rich people you are so dead against and I create the jobs that you keep talking about'.
not only that--sKerry isn't really an earner--he is a parasite.
I just hate the idea that Kerry, Teresa, Hillary, and the rest of the elitist Bolshevik rats are only about 15 miles from me. I can't wait till the leave the state.
heh, I made over 100k one year.. if my wife would have worked we would have been close to 200k.... but we looked like young kids at the time...
people who make money don't look any different. I know more than a few millionaires... and unless it's a social function, we all look alike.
I also was appalled that he kept referring to the troops as "kids" My son just return from Afghanistan this week (THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!) yes he is MY kid :) but he is no kid!!! He is a fine young man doing a great job with his peers and I take MUCH offense with Kerry calling him a "Kid"
Yes, not all wealthy people walk around dripping in diamonds. Kerry made a huge assumption and a huge mistake.
If only three people made over $200,000 last year, no matter how much he raises their taxes, he still can't pay for the $1 trillion in new spending he is proposing.
Maybe Kerry should be made to prove that he makes over $200,000. And he's not allowed to include allowances from Tereza.
Yes and he could tell how much money they made just by looking around the room. What an amazing talent.
The ironic thing is that the leech probably doesn't make more than 200G's himself.
Funny how Terraaayyyyzzaaaaa owns the SUV's but her money is his money too.
Smarmy pr!ck.
I looked it up, and the truth is, according to the 2000 census,
less than 2 1/2 % of households have an income >$200K.
So out of a random 100 people, statistically speaking,
Kerry is correct.
Good God.
Did I just defend him?
I must be drunk.
This is a good point. No one else in the audience is permitted to make $200K or more, you see. It isn't done. It just is not done. Not done. Tisn't.
That's the first thing that came to my mind and I said so at the time to my wife. Glad to see this posted and so many others caught it!!!
I said the same thing. The great thing about our country is you cant tell what people make by looking at them. Some guy who looks like a bum may be a millionare. Just because he doesnt windsurf doesnt mean he does not have wealth, or the capacity to be wealthy.
Why are all the polls showing a huge Kerry victory 5 minutes after it was over? When did they start these polls and did they just open it with Kerry already ahead by 30,000 votes or what. Did they watch the same thing I just did? From the Presidents campaign emails:
Immediately after the debate, visit online polls, chat rooms, and discussion boards and make your voice heard. The major news networks will all have internet polls after the debate. Make sure you vote in polls on:
MSNBC.com
FoxNews.com
ABCNews.com
CNN.com
and even CBS.
bump
I guess he never read "The Millionaire Next Door". There are thousands of self made millionaires that live in fly-over country. Shows just how out of touch he is.
Who cares what the statistic says? The point is, Kerry did a quick look-see around him and concluded based on.... what exactly?.... that no one there was anywhere near the evil $200K threshold. Too many non-designer suits in the room? Too many unmanicured nails? It was an snotty, unnecessary "observation".
