I find it too hard to post responses on Free Republic. There are so many people posting threads and responses that the volume alone is enough to bury anything you might want to say. You can rarely say anything substantive either, and for much the same reason, because by the time you finish thinking and typing, your response will have become irrelevant and the thread itslef will be 10 items down the list. This precludes people from reading your post, which is after al the whole point of posting in the first place (vanity, thy name is I). I guess that its in the nature of the beast, so to speak.
LOL! Hey, we missed you at .25 beer night at the UT!
Ohhhhh, this is going to be confusing. We already have a "Petronski," and now a "petrotsky."
No, but I'll grade it.
Way back when I was doing Quant, we analyzed "fuzzy" sets which posited a boolean "almost."
Never got it to work, and now we have the "pet"s.
I could call myself "VoteforBush235467" and become really anymous.
I did! I did!
I do that regularly to see who has a broomstick up his...
Never mind. Jim might still be up.

You're certainly welcome to run with the big dogs, but if you can't hack it, I'd suggest staying on the porch.
Which is another way of saying...you'll get used to it. Not everyone will read every post you make, nor can you hope to read everything posted. It's a cafeteria line...you don't have to be like John Belushi in Animal House, taking one of everything. Just sample what you like, strike up a conversation, voice your anger, POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!
Er...ahem. You'll catch on.
I love it when the ernest effort is made: "Viola!" It makes me want to respond "Cello!"
lol..
Up to your charitable best I C. LOL.
Practice fast scan/reading
FR is not a test
You can pick up content and important points easily with practice
Reading speed and comprehension is something that is easily improved
You have much to learn and it shows, big time.
If you are on a live thread.., it is difficult..otherwise your complaint doesn't hold water..

We've had a lot of new folks join up recently. Welcome aboard, this thread is a gentle reminder of some basic posting guidelines. (And for some of you old timers as well) Please read the follow, and ask any questions. We will all try to help you out.
General Interest (Chat)
All non-sourced non-news threads are posted here. This doesnt mean your one thought is a thread by itself. Lately, we have been seeing articles posted that should be comments made on the main article. Your comment/vanity article will be pulled or moved to General Interest (Chat). Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic.
No, it doesn't. Truly thoughtful Freepers read the article and all the posts before posting themselves, assuming they have something they think is worthy of sharing.
Unfortunately, that type of Freeper is in the minority. Many feel qualified to make a comment after reading only the headline. Others may have read the article, but obviously not the prior responses which leads to redundant posts.
In threads about developing news, many posters miss updates that are posted as responses, and proceed to make irrelevant or uninformed responses.
There's nothing you can do about that and it's probably going to get worse as more and more people join this forum. But your posts will be read by the thoughtful people here, and who cares if the other ones don't?
On a long thread , I start at the last and read up!
I often do that, too.
This doesnt mean your one thought is a thread by itself.
Ok, I get this.
Vanities should be limited to the mission of Free Republic.
I believe this thread was about the methodology of posting on FR which is central to the mission of FR.
