Haha. Although there may be far more DUmpsters, we are safe - only a few of them know how to read.

Ash probably had more than a hundred names.....(looks like he's become a legend), along with Toiletman (attacked FR the day of the March for Justice), and Eschoir. Those guys were remarkable in their ability to register and reregester over and over with new names and email addresses. I was lucky to get registered the first time and am too incompetent with a computer to change or reregister.

let's check the
SCOREBOARDat the bottom of the scoreboard, there is a figure of 22,XXX. I guess this represents the total of all who have registered over the years.

They used to put the current number of lurkers and the number of logged in accounts in the banner at the top. It hardly ever dropped below 200 logged in and that was several years ago. There are a lot who lurk, a million who take a look now and then wouldn't be too far off.

I'd be more curious about how many of us have lives. ;-)None, we sit all day in our pajamas and read freerepublic. :-)

Ideology aside, I'm consistently impressed with how superior FR is to DU. The format is just better. We allow everyone to do searches. Every single relevant story gets posted within minutes if not seconds. The DUers clog their threads with ridiculous animations. They never post full articles only excerpts. Hours or days pass without major stories being posted, especially if it's negative to their side.

Actually there's only two - Jim and John Robinson. They created a program to simulate an entire community.
They even convinced us program simulations that we were real an had lives.

There are now 51 posters on this thread. That's about it. Well, not counting Buckhead.

I would venture a sizable monetary wager that the number of people who have posted at least once this week is well in excess of 300. 1275 people have voted in the latest poll.
