Even as many had dreams indicating in July and August that September would be a month of storms, others have had dreams saying that October would be a month of terrorism. May we be found standing in the breach as the Lord would direct us.

September 4. 2004 5:03am.........had this dream three times...
I am standing outside, and approximately about 20 feet away from me, I see what looks like a big globe of the world.
As I begin to walk towards it, I am then lifted up far above this globe, and can now look down , and see the whole universe.
As I look far over towards the left, I see a darkening in the sky. In a blink of an eye, it strikes me that it has the resemblance of New York…the stock exchange buildings and business area. I then become aware, that as this situation is occurring, that in other parts of the world, there seem to be simultaneous attacks.
Although, I am not certain, of the exact places these attacks are also occurring, I do notice, that oil refineries, are being blown up, and I notice there seems to be those of Arabic descent as well as what appears to be Iraq, is now once again, under heavy attack, with air attacks, and ground forces, attacking just as they did in the beginning of the war…many lives are lost.
As this takes place, I look to my right, and see more destruction, and terror and death.
As I awoke, I was in tears, and kept hearing "Oct will be a significant month, Winds Of Change…Watch and Pray"

There are literally THOUSANDS of such examples in Judeo/Christian literature from before the NT times to the present.
Within some brief and relatively narrow limits, am somewhat willing to disucss such points.
BUT MOSTLY, this thread is to discuss our senses in our spirits regarding various posted dreams and visions--Paul instructed THE BODY in Corinthians to collectively test whether a given pronouncement, offering/dream/vision/interpretation of tongues was a valid one or not. We can do that hereon. There are some very discerning and spiritually sensitive folks hereon.
That's more the purpose of this thread, imho--if I have any influence on it.
Sometimes when I wake up from disturbing dreams, I pray to the Lord to take those dreams away from me, because I sense it as a sort of satanic oppression. I ask the Lord to put his shield around me and give me peace so I can have a restful sleep. Always works for me.
I THINK THAT'S A VERY WISE POLICY TO FOLLOW.
I do similarly. But I may ask what God wants me to learn from it, first. And how HE wants me to treat it.
But Certainly if there's any even hint that it's enemy harrassment, I rebuke it and command the demonic forces to go. And, I pray against it happening at all etc. Has worked often to prevent things that I believe otherwise would have happened.
Once, The Lord told me on the way to work at the Navy Human relations center after there had been a lot of successful ministry--that the enemy was going to try and kill me in traffic accidents. That I had to pray or he would succeed. I prayed and miraculously avoided 3 accidents--any of which could have done me in.
It's also a good practice when sleeping to pray, covering ourselves in The Blood of Jesus and asking Him to guard our mind throughout the night etc.

Yes, he did, and that was during the time of the apostles, when miraculous things were happening.

does NOT indicate any cessation of miracles.

The BIBLE IS ABUNDANTLY CLEAR about the miracles HOLY SPIRIT will be fostering in the end times.
Perhaps you'd do well to read those parts again and again until they sink in.
Yes. It does. Acts makes it clear that the method for bestowing gifts was from the "laying on of the apostles hands". Last time I checked, they are all dead.

Last year God showed me that there would be storms and floods in 04 like what we've seen in Florida and the Islands. I thought it would be in Isreal and it still could be. Also revealed that things would improve for Isreal in 04 and things have improved there.
Then had a revelation that God would be gathering His own in 05...a great Revival. This is very vague except for a feeling that there will be a great change before that...something we have never seen before.
When I ponder on this I always have a worried feeling about our President and never feel sure about what happens to him.

Wrong on a couple of counts.
The most important one,
you seem to have removed from your Bible the verse about those filled with The Spirit without any laying on of hands or any other intervention of any Apostles.
And, Apostle Paul didn't have any such prior to the Damascus Road incident.
Many in our era have had similar experiences.
As Scripture says, THE FRUIT IS THE PROOF. People 180 degrees turned around loving, worshipping and following God from a life of horror, pain, suffering, rebellion, etc. in countries around the world.
Interestingly, Holy Spirit has had a fuller flow in regions where people simply take Scripture at face value and try and live it out and apply it as it's stated. In those regions, Acts 2 is abundantly demonstrated repeatedly.
In regions where denominational 'distinctives' [i.e. doctrines of man] are elevated above Scripture and above the work of Holy Spirit, there are less miracles.
If you ask a few people who know me, they will tell you I am usually patient and respectful of others when talking about religion. However, I have got to say that it is no wonder that you are "not willing to carry this forward much further" as you certainly must be running out of Bible to use either out of context or in a totally ridiculous way. It is not an accident that Pentecostals are not known for their biblical soundness. Taking the example of Christ appearing to Paul on the road to Damascus as an example of receiving the Spirit through other than laying on of hands is frankly LUDICROUS.
There's plenty of other Scriptural evidence of such. I used Paul as the most vivid.
It's LUDICROUS to think that THE GOD WHO NEVER CHANGES
would silence and hobble and handcuff Holy Spirit IN THE END TIMES, while allowsing satan to run rampant and roughshod with all manner of demonstrations.
It's ludicrous to twist Scriptures into any cessationist nonsense.
It's ludicrous to discourage people from taking Scripture at face value and trusting God to be God in power and might as He declared in Acts 2 etc. it was routinely fitting to expect of Him as a matter of course in Christian life.
And Christians all across China and South America and now even Russia are finding it so in abundance. Blindness to the facts doesn't change them.
Pentecostals and Charismatics have some of the most solid Biblical scholars available.

No wonder you are so blind to the Scriptural contexts about Holy Spirit continuing his New Testament operative style and means in our still 'church era' Christian lives--that is for those willing and with the faith to cooperate--and not blind and hostile to Holy Spirit's current operations.

You are just plain wrong. Wrong as can be. Read the book Charismatic Chaos by John F. MacArthur Jr. If you are honest then it will help you. But if you are set on pushing your anti-Biblical agenda of modern day miracles, then don't bother.

I've purposely stayed away from this thread. People seem to enjoy frightening themselves. They should spend $8 and go see a scary movie. Then head to church and realize that God is in control of His creation. I'm sorry they miss this comfort.

One of the things I most enjoy about him is he is not afraid to say what he believes.
We live in a world were ticking of ears is the norm and not the exception . Have you followed the "Lordship " salvation issue by him?
Have you ever read John Piper ? He is my sons pastor. Not as pointed as MacArthur . But his book "Desiring God " is inspiring .
When I was 1st saved I went to a charismatic church with a friend for a LONG time. I thank God all the time, that he put good good teachers in my path ( mostly on the radio) that fed my natural hunger for the word of God.
Soon the shallowness and error of what was being preached at that church made it impossible to continue going there. One of those "radio preachers" was John Mac Arthur
Hmm, sounds like the prayer my parents taught me, "Now I lay me down to sleep....
Here's another set of dreams--a most disturbing set:
1) President Bush is assassinated in the 27th (I don't know which month. I had this dream in July and every 27th since then has made me quite edgy.)
2) I had a dream that I was in a building next to a river. The building was very dark and people were desperately trying to get down, to escape something. We also had to take several pills in order to "be safe". As I went down I peeked outside a window to see a missle or small aircraft crash into a nuclear reactor. I could see the mushroom cloud and the rolling flash coming. THe pills would help save us from the radiation, which was why we had to take them before impact. (potassium iodine?)
Thought I'd share. I have dreams all the time, but these really bugged me. I'm not sure what makes "prophecy" dreams different, but they are.
Here's hoping we're all just really paranoid and no one is a prophet!
BTW, I think this is a disingenuous postulation.
You don't live that way--devoid of Holy Spirit's input, yourself.
You have had Biblical verses jump off the page as being VERY POINTEDLY PERTINENT TO A SITUATION YOU'VE BEEN PRAYING ABOUT AS HOLY SPIRIT HAS PUT A KIND OF EXISTENTIAL HIGHLIGHT ON THE VERSE IN YOUR READINGS OR MEDITATIONS.
You have also prayed for guidance on important matters.
