What's the best movie music of all time? John Williams and Star Warsor all the hits from Chicagohow about Joplin's rags from The Sting or the opening scene from 2001? I know I like the renditions of the Navy Hymn from The Perfect Storm you have to be hard hearted not to get a lump in your throat during that scene, and the rendition in The Crimson Tide. So Drama, musicals, Comedies, chick flicks, westerns, SciFi, etc. which movie has the best music? What's your vote?

There used to be so many good sound tracks.
I have to agree with Shirley Bassey singing Goldfinger but I think Tom Jones as the vocalist on Thunderball was very close.

How 'bout the main title from "The Great Escape" - Another Elmer Bernstein special.
If you can't find the soundtrack to "Excalibur", just go to the Classical section of your neighborhood music store and scoop up Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and all the Wagner you can get your hands on, especially Parsifal, Tristan and Isolde, and Lohengrin.

Ennio Morricone is a good bet any dayThe Mission is my ALL time favourite. The fourth track on that soundtrack is called 'Brothers' and it's just the most beautiful piece.
Other than that, I have to say I like Moulin Rouge.

Just played it...good way to start the morning.
Thanks for posting.
I'm thinking this song would make a good
opening theme song for an ambitious talk show host.

Enjoyed listening to your songs that you generously linked us to.
It's fun when I think of President Bush's Texas swagger, which he just calls that's Texan for walkin', the song about "I've got spurs that jingle jangle bangle".

That's the manly attitude we need in dealing with cowardly
low-life scum terrorist bastards. Great pics...thanks

The Magnificent Seven For Westerns, that's my first choice too.
Elmer Bernstein, BTW; the same guy who did the score for Ghostbusters, which is also great--of course in a totally different way.
