The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

if'n you're going to over-seed with legumes (i.e. clover) you will not need as much, if any, nitrogen... but you will likely want phosphorous, and potassium, and you will almost certainly need lime...

at the MU extension center, when you provide the soil sample, tell them what you plan to do with the ground, and they will provide recommended treatment...

I like that one too...

As if'n it weren't enough that I've had throwed at me, somebody has given out MY work number as their contact number. In the last 15 minutes, three different people have called and asked for Mr. Williams.

'Course with the way my luck is runnin', this MAY be Mr. Williams' office by Monday...

We have it on maybe fifty to a hundred systems now, since it's on many of the lab machines. No big problems so far...

Well, we have six laying hens now. Isabelle (or "Isa-missle" as the jedis call her) just laid her first egg. It is small and greenish blue, exactly like Rosabelle's. Now if Puffy lays an egg here in a bit, we'll have our first six-egg day. A half-dozen!

Suzi: Got the Latin supplies!! Thank you so much! I'm separating the flash cards into envelopes per lesson, numbering how many should be in each envelope. I imagine that's how I'll send them back...in the envelopes.

Did ya get their winter lamp hooked up yet?

Six in a day! That's two each for you and Steve and one each for the Jedis...not bad!

Yes I did! About two weekends ago. It's "Lights Out" at 10:30pm every night. They sleep soundly all night and don't commence to laying and bocking till about 7:30am.

Just wait 'til they're teenagers and sneak around behind your back.

Oh...you were talking about the chickens...

Wife and I are just about ready to start having Jr. hand us the laptop and the cell phone at 10 p.m. (well, when he gets the laptop back anyway...tonite). Then we'd give them back in the morning.

Maybe it'll be OK for awhile now that CBS's statement has been delayed AGAIN.

Heh.... Speaking of peace... I just got this in my email:

Subject: Inner Peace

I am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for
me...and at this time of year we all could use a little... calm!!!

By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally
found inner peace...
The article read:

"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've
started."

So I looked around the house to see all the things I started and
hadn't finished... and before coming to work this morning I finished
off a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine, the Bailey's,
Kahlua and Wild Turkey, my Prozac, some valium and a box of
chocolates.

You have no idea how freakin good I feel...

You may pass this on to those you feel are in need of Inner Peace...
