Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Our anime club is watching Naruto, which bores me, and Madlax, which confuses me.
I'm watching one called Full Moon wo Sagashite, which is probably harmless enough for your kids, even if it does have shinigami (angels of death! but they're highly kawaii) and has some nice J-pop. Also of course following Samurai 7 and FMA. Saw one called Saikano which is definitely not for kids; nice end of the world ending, though.

I'm not sure where exactly we'll be. I think the town is called Paradise.
If nothing else, we MUST get together for pints of some sort one evening! Or seafood...mmmmmmm....seafood!

Paradise isn't a ~town~ really, it's a lodge at Mount Rainier! In the middle of the National Forest, a couple hours from anywhere.

Like I said.... there isn't anything ~near~ Paradise... but it would be a cool place to get married.

Oh, you were hoping for a happy ending?
It's a weird ending... might be happy, I guess. I just really like the closing song on that one. "Sayonara, itoshi hito"...

The way my family loves okra best is fried. You could use cut frozen okra, but the best to use for this is fresh. Yes, it is slimy when you're cutting it, from the 'juices', but that helps with this recipe! When you have it cut in little crossways pieces, beat a couple of eggs, pot them into a bowl, and put the okra in it. Then make a coating of corn meal, salt and pepper. Drain the okra through a pierced spoon, and drop a few pieces at a time into the meal mixture and coat well. Put the coated pieces on a platter or tray until you have them all done. In the meantime, put some oil in and pan and heat it. Drop the okra pieces into the oil and fry until golden brown.
Good eatin! Course I also like okra cooked with chunks of tomato and onion!

I am not sure how to get .mac to post a picture so I can external link to us. I have my pictures at yorkphoto.com. I can upload from my files very easily, and when I open the photo I want to bring over, I choose the 'select all' setting then choose 'copy' to make sure I have the full url. Works great, and I only send a roll of film to them every six months or so and they host them for free!
