Gottta love it. "End Occupation in Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Haiti" reads one of these Wile E. Coyote Super Genius's signs. Let me address an open letter to that mongoloid.

1. Palestine -- nice to see that you're "out" with yer antisemitism, dipwad (cooping it up too long causes acne, as a glance at your fellow protesters proves), but raise that issue with the folks can do something about it. Last time I checked the "occupation" was being run by a whole separate country. (And, the "Palestinians" have shown no ability to govern themselves: they need someone to stand in loco parentis for the foreseeable future).

2. Afghanistan -- has its own government. With elections, even. And they want our guys to stay for the time being. Did we "occupy" Germany from 1955-2004?

3. Iraq -- yep, it's an occupation. And it's going to continue for a while. Deal with it.

4. Haiti -- Look. Clinton knocked the strongman of Haiti, Cedras, off his perch, and put another strongman -- and one who's closely aligned politically with these dip protesters -- in his place. Then the US troops left. We aren't occupying Haiti: it's a worthless place, full of worthless people who probably deserve what they are getting, and are getting it without us in any event. Who is occupying Haiti? Haitians, that's who. That's why it's a mess.

I commend to all these protesters a line from their patron saint, Lenin, er, Lennon: "If you go carryin' pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow."

Well, there's no such thing as "the Jews." Just a lot of individuals, many of whom follow the liberalism of their fathers, but lots of whom are fighters -- and leaders -- on our side too.

That's like saying "the Blacks." What about Condi and Powell and Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell and all our black and Jewish Freepers? Never assume a person believes X or supports Y because of his race or religion or heritage. Even if you are statistically likely to be right, it just doesn't extrapolate to individuals reliably.

Don't mean to tee off on you. But honestly, of course groups like The Blacks and The Jews and The (fill in the blank) are on the other side -- we've got The Americans and if they come in a bunch of colours and family histories that makes them interesting as individuals but doesn't necessarily follow that they clump up in groups....
