Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Awe-ful? So good everyone else stares at you in awe?
Just teasing! The point of bowling isn't to be good, it's to have fun!
We went with my brother and his fiance while they were here. I broke 70 both times, so I was happy. ;-) Though in Germany when we used to go once a month or so (it was the ONLY place on base open late, except for the club, and they had hamburgers and such there), I got so I could break 100 most of the time. That's impressive for me!
Forgot to say...I used less Splenda than it called for, and it was plenty sweet.
I used to go bowling with a group of friends. We'd combine our scores and try to, say, break 500 between the four of us. Much more fun than just competing!
That's the correct carb count for the bulk splenda...but liquid concentrated splenda has zero carbs...but you can't buy it in the US. You could use the vanilla splenda syrup...probably need more than a quarter teaspoon, but mmmm! And it doesn't have any carbs.
I've had this before...it is very good! I just used some packets of splenda to sweeten it...4-5, I think...it's been a while back.
Unfortunately, I have a hedache...
I just copied what was written...but you're right, vanilla syrup might be very good!
I have a bag of bulk Splenda now, so I used that...but probably only two tablespoons, if that. Almonds are kinda sweet by themselves, so I didn't feel like it needed much.
I really like the DaVinci vanilla syrup, though. Been using it in my coffee. Wish it wasn't so pricey - I went through the little bottle I bought pretty fast! It's more than half gone already.
How many carbs in Morning Relief? ;-)
I'm actually finding I get a LOT fewer headaches these days. Still get 'em...but used to be a few times a week, and now it's much rarer. I'm assuming sugar highs and lows didn't help.
Late night? Early morning? Both?
Yeah, it's been that way all week and is not likely to change...
At least you got a vacation coming up, no?
I'll be happy when the temperatures go down. Hard to sleep in this weather.
Hard to even BREATHE in this weather.
I just ain't a hot weather gal. I may complain when it's below zero, and I guess if hard pressed I'd rather have the heat...but I don't like it.
As long as the temp stays about zero, I'd rather have cold weather than hot.
Oh, me too! Far fewer headaches!
I'm taking Corin's advice and getting a cup of Joe in me before I move on to the morning relief...since I cut back so far on my caffeine, that stuff is a real jolt.
It's a tension headache though...woke up with it...could feel my jaw, eyes, forehead and neck all tight.
Been fighting my demons all night in my sleep, I guess.
Yep, vacation is just around the corner. This week just sort of morphed into being a busy week. I try to keep most evenings free, but that didn't happen this week.
That's just wrong...
The only thing nice about hot weather is that you don't have to deal with coats and hats and gloves and all that. Being a scatterbrain...I can never find all of 'em at once.
But I could never live somewhere where it's really hot for more than a month or so a year. Not by choice, in any case.
Heh...I mentioned that I took that "find your spot" quiz and got mostly locations in Alaska, no? ;-) I wouldn't go THAT far, but right now, it sounds pretty good, except for the bugses.
I'm with you. I'd like to live somewhere that the summer high is, say, 80, and the winter temps never go below 0. I can take really hot for maybe a couple weeks... that's why I've been happy that we've had mostly a cool summer. I don't think it's been past 90 more than three days this month.
Thanks for the recipe! I signed up on the South Beach website today. I figured the cost is worth it to help me finally get this lard off my fanny and the rest of me!
I've found that I always have to cut down on the amount of Splenda recommended in a recipe. If I use it all, it's way too sweet and has a really funky aftertaste
