My father is an avowed liberal (kerry stuff all over their house - ugh), and enjoys sending me email quotes and such that he thinks make his point for him. So today I get this:
Quote of the Year
"Back in 2000, a Republican friend of mine warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched. You know what? I did vote for Al Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true."
James Carville, Democratic strategist
I mean really - using this freak to make a point?
Send him back quotes from Zell Miller
When my MIL was visiting us, we went to a festival downtown (small town in SW VA). There were some college kids handing out Kerry stickers, and she took one. I laughed and put my arm around her, and when they offered one to me, I said, "No, thanks."
"Would your daughter," she said, gesturing to my 5 1/2 year old, "like one?"
"No," I answered. "I'm raising her to be a Republican."
Poor girl...she had NO idea what to make of that!!
She probably went back and told her friends about this terrible person who is brainwashing her daughter with awful republican ideas. It's like child abuse!
Wish I could have seen her face...:)
Sorry your Dad is a lib. My 80 year old Dad, WW2/Korea vet, was ready to get his M1 carbine and go after Ted Rall the other day after seeing him on O'Reilley.
He is almost as right-wing as me. Can't imagine if was a lib.
It'd be nice if they weren't libs, but all things considered, I could have MUCH worse problems with my parents. And luckily I married into a family of conservatives, so I get my right-wing fix. Especially since I live with my in-laws right now. :)
