I've got lots of libs in my family, too. I can't even talk politics w/ my grandma! (My mother, bless her heart, has convinced her to vote against Kerry because he is so pro abortion, though. Kudos to her!)

When my MIL was visiting us, we went to a festival downtown (small town in SW VA). There were some college kids handing out Kerry stickers, and she took one. I laughed and put my arm around her, and when they offered one to me, I said, "No, thanks."

"Would your daughter," she said, gesturing to my 5 1/2 year old, "like one?"

"No," I answered. "I'm raising her to be a Republican."

Poor girl...she had NO idea what to make of that!!

Sorry your Dad is a lib. My 80 year old Dad, WW2/Korea vet, was ready to get his M1 carbine and go after Ted Rall the other day after seeing him on O'Reilley.

He is almost as right-wing as me. Can't imagine if was a lib.
