My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

What You Are To Me
I am a rose, you are my thorns,
clutching to me, protecting me.
I am the sun, you are my rays,
helping me to shine and to be all that I can.
I am a lake, you are my water,
filling me with ideas, dreams, and hopes for the future.
I am a tree, you are my leaves,
sharing who and what I am
and becoming an important part of my life.
I am a heart, you are my beat,
beating rhythmically to my happiness,
my fear, my sadness, my excitement
I am me and you are with me,
to share all that I am,
to share life, love, and happiness.
Always.

Thank You Sam, we can never have enough Flags flying in The Lair. Johnny Cash did a wonderful thing recording this song. Johnny is sadly missed this year.

I Am Old Glory
I Am Old Glory: For more than ten score years I have been the
banner of hope and freedom for generation after generation of Americans.
Born amid the first flames of America's fight for freedom,
I am the symbol of a country that has grown from a little group
of thirteen colonies to a united nation of fifty sovereign states.
Planted firmly on the high pinnacle of American Faith
my gently fluttering folds have proved an inspiration to untold millions.
Men have followed me into battle with unwavering courage.
They have looked upon me as a symbol of national unity.
They have prayed that they and their fellow citizens might continue to enjoy the life,
liberty and pursuit of happiness, which have been granted
to every American as the heritage of free men.
So long as men love liberty more than life itself;
so long as they treasure the priceless privileges bought with the
blood of our forefathers; so long as the principles of truth, justice
and charity for all remain deeply rooted in human hearts, I shall
continue to be the enduring banner of the United States of America.

Summer of Tears
Summer of tears
a waterfall horizon
and a copper dawn in vapor
touching rosebushes at sundown.
In the marrow of my bones
you are my love and desire
I am missing your
soul and soft guitars...

Dawn Rainbow
A rainbow only bounces back to you the color in the light.
You get something quite special when the circumstance is right.
An early morning shower when the sun had hardly shown,
Caused the rainbow to get dressed in haste, in colors not its own.
Full golden was the rainbow, with neon at the edge,
As the sun was rising sleepily from beyond its earthen ledge.
I had never seen a rainbow that was monochrome like that,
But I remember vividly just where I was and where it sat.
There was no gold to find down on the ground beneath the bow,
For all of it was utilized in putting forth the glow.
No doubt you think Im daft to even say I saw the sight,
For no one else has ever seen a rainbow in dawns light.

Lovely poem Bob. I never thought about a rainbow at dawn. Nice twist.

Good morning Bob. I have heard from them. They needed some added info. This is good news in that they are working on the manuscript.
Yesterday, I received word that another of my poems had been chosen for publication in an anthology. I am not doing anything with it however, I have my own book. :-)
Have you any news from your publisher?
