(Uber-vanity): Need FReeper help in showing global reach of internet/this site

OK, I have a special request for FReepers far and wide (especially far).

Over the next 30 days I need to show how the Internet, and specifically this site, reaches all around the world (don't ask; it's a long story).

To that end, I'd ask that FReepers print out the below graphic and take a (digital) photo of it with a recognizable landmark in the background. It doesn't matter if you appear in the photo or not. Please print the location's name in large letters on the blank line:

(Right-click on the image and choose "Save image")

Then e-mail the image to lhurker{at}yahoo.com

In 30 days I'll post the results.

There've been a bunch of e-mail inquiries as to what's behind all this, so I'll explain:

A Lib acquaintance of mine charged that FR is an "extreme wing-nut site with only limited exposure." I bet him $50 that it's neither.

So forward on that graphic to your far-flung friends and have them photograph it in distance places -- the more, and the more exotic the location, the better.

I'll donate all proceeds to FR.

If you want to depict how something started here can go 'round & 'round the net - just look up "Bad American" here, and on snopes.com - then there's the phenomenon of the "Sore Loserman" posters in Florida.

some of us do not have the time nor the means to do this in a timely manner. Isn't it possible to do the same thing by just email with our FreepNames and Locations? Or is it possible to get a list of screen names and locations from the Free Republic staff?

What is a FReeper? I've been on the inter net for years and I've never heard the term FReeper. Is it short for something else?

Please help me out here.

Maybe we can post your picture with one of my poems stolen off Free Republic and posted at DU. Those twits seem to spend more time on Free Republic than over at DU.

Oh good grief, we have a raft of foreign Freepers, and I can't remember all their screen names.

Sam, we have more Polish Freepers than Matthew Paul, and they are fluent in English. Do you remember them all? And there is the German Michael something or other, plus some Russians. And there are the British, Aussies, New Zealanders, and JanL, the South African. I lose track of them all.

Everybody pinged, please help Martin and forgive my bad memory for screen names.
