Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Richard Clarke testified before the 9/11 Committee yesterday and said two things of interest: (1) President Bush scaled back the effort to eliminate Al Qa'eda after he took over on January 20, 2001; and (2)that there was never any want of resources to battle terrorism under the UOx42 Administration.

Not to belabor the point, but one would have to set aside certain realities to accept that situation. UOx42 only shot missiles into tents, and only did it when he was caught with his pants down--literally. As stated yesterday, the country was not focused on terrorism as a main issue from January 20, 2001 till September 11, 2001, at 8:47 AM EST. But look at the response of this President: on September 13, 2001, the leader of Al Qa'eda remarked that Americans were hiding in their "caves". Who, today, is quite literally hiding in a cave?

But was is most interesting, is Clarke is inconsistent. His book condemns President Bush, yet there was a press briefing in August 2002 that praised the President's efforts.

Elsewhere, Hamas states that any Israeli anywhere in "occupied Palestine" (Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank) is subject to attack, and attacks will continue until Palestine is liberated.

My tinfoil hat says that since Clarke had so much "inside" information on the Taliban and al Quada, he was probably recruited by them and knew exactly when the terrorist strike was going to take place - witness his "dire warning" to Condi Rice just 7 days before 9/11.

In that "warning" he speaks of thousands of Americans being killed and planes being used to take down buildings. I'm sure he got that right off the internet - right?

"Kerry's National Security Advisor is Rand Beer.....whose best friend is Richard Clarke."

This morning I heard on the ABC (or ABS as Rush calls it) that Clarke stated to the investigation that he has no connection with the Kerry campaign. If his best friend, and fellow professor is the Kerry National Security Advisor, he has a connection to the Kerry campaign whether he wants to admit it or not.

Also, and I may have heard this wrong, at the end of the little blurb about Clarke, I could swear that the news reader said that Clarke was an analyst for ABS News.

Hi! I got kicked off the net just after I did that last post. I'm going to be busy this morning. I'll check in about lunch.

The curtain rises in about 30 minutes. The message of our presentation is that to maintain and increase in your faith you need to continue basic disciplines of Christianity, namely, daily prayer, Bible study, fellowship with other Christians and sharing your faith. So, various characters, like Bud, Harm..started fantasizing.

Bud and Harriet never married, for instance, but Harm and Sarah did, but were in the process of a divorce.

The hour wrapped up with the Admiral waking Harm out of his reverie: they were all leaving.

Then Sarah comes back for her coat which she'd left, finds Harm, and comments on the cookie's message...

The last line is Harm's saying something like, maybe it's not too late...

Cleared two flower beds before supper. I wanted to beat the rain, which is suposed to move in this evening. My goal is to get all the dead perennials cut back and thrown away before the bulbs start blooming. I also am pruning the shrub roses.

Mr. Marple is quite happy with the carrot cake roll. He is also happy with the chili. To keep him in a good mood, I am going to let him have the computer for a bit.

It is really good. Cream cheese with a soy flour cake that is very well done. Mr. Marpleliked it a lot.

At my sister's recommendation, I am watching "Clean Sweep" on The Learning Channel. People who have out-of-control junk accumulations are forced to sort and toss, while their rooms are re-done. So far, it is highly entertaining.

The thing is, jtill, that about this time last year, David James Eliot (?) signed only a 1 year contract, and they even had trouble getting that done.

Yesterday Clarke said that the last time he voted was in the 2000 election and he asked for a Republican ballot.

Some people on the LIVE thread commented that it is only in primaries that one needs to declare a party affiliation so wondered at the pomposity with which he spoke. IMO, that proves nothing at all but Clarke made quite a dramatic statement about it.

I caught a few minutes of Rush today and he said that for the last ten years, all of Clarke's political donations have been to the 'rats!!! Hmmmmm!

Rush also said something else that made me nearly run off the run laughing, though his original subject matter was quite serious.

He was talking about the Palestinian kid who was found wired up with a bomb and how the kid (16? I thought I had heard younger but that's the age being given now) was promised his 72 virgins.

Then Rush said that someone should have promised x42 72 virgins to catch BinLaden ... it would have been accomplished in no time at all.
